I know we often view the world through a football-prism but this issue essentially has nothing to do with football. The inconvenience this has on the fans and staff is a footnote in terms of the wider geo-political priorities.

Tough times ahead for the club. Guess they better all those loan players back, cause they gonna need them.
But how do you say to a player who is under contract but wants out, sorry you can't be sold. Or do they allow them to sell enough to balance the books? If not Chelsea could be in serious trouble here.

Definitely, would just say it is a weird thing to happen. The bigger picture is still the most important and always will be but is still a newsworthy event in footballing terms and this specific thread.

A far better sanction would be for Chelsea to have to use our back four for a season.

Their turnover is going to tank, no matchday revenue/merchandise, how are they going to pay the players.

Abramovich had to wire them money last season to pay the players at one time, they really struggled without matchday revenue.

Crazy turnaround.

They could still be sold I guess be but the proceeds frozen? I haven't seen it said that they cant be sold anywhere - happy to be corrected.
