Rodwell

Has Rodwell ever really stated what position he wants to play, anyone know?

In many ways i see Rodwell, where Fellaini was when he signed for us. You could see the tools he had to be compleate midfeilder, but was more effective offensively when shackled from defensive duties. Rodwell is the opposite he is comfortable playing deep, but he has all the tools to be an offensive threat as well, he has a burst of pace, strenghth and a technical ability to take the ball on and attack the game more there are also goals in his game both by shooting and also heading. I think he has been more confident, agressive and tenacious this season, certainly more effective. I have no doubt Jack can play at centre half, but personaly i see him in midfeild and his all around game - especially his offensive game improveing he has it in his locker.

I'd love nothing more than if he became a centre back, he's a bit of a unit in fairness, just wonder if he would actually fancy it there? He's been playing for England in midfield from what I've noticed? Perhaps they play him there because we do, but it doesn't strike me that he's asking to play defence that's all

Can't see him moving Distin or Jagielka out for some time in defence, so it's centre mid for a couple more years at least at a guess? Would it then be too late for him to drop back?

Rodwell has been held back in his development, you might aswell write last season off. he was moved around in different positions and then benched to accommodate other players.

Hopefully moyes will stick with him in this position and let him learn and devlop into it. the only problem is when moyes finaly relises we need a striker, Rodwell or osman will make way for cahill in midfield.

Every time he looks like he might get a run together he gets bloody injured. Infuriating ****
Looked very good on Saturday tho, was impressed with how he coped with Silva

He didn't look scared ****less yesterday marking Silva, which was a huge plus. There's something about him now that looks less wide-eyed teenager and more like a professional footballer.

Hope he avoids injury this year.

Good chance he'll still be here at the start of next season now. IMO his best chance of being sold was after a good performance at the euros/Olympics.
