Rodwell replacement?

Apparently Arsenal are after him. If there's any truth in that then there's no chance for us.

Actually even if they're not I can't see him going for a fee we could afford, or to a team not in the CL.

Malaga are cash strapped though, would be interesting to see what £10 million straight up would do. Probably nothing. This is like who I'd like to see in my furthest optimism though.

this is a hard one as what exactly are we replacing a holding midfielder or an attacking midfielder or even a potential centre half that will look to play out from the back ?????????

i b happy with a player that improves the squad

To be honest I don't think moyes will be looking to replace him as such,,, more using the money to strengthen other areas....

Moyes intimating it will be Francisco Junior......that would be fantastic....a free signing who was jibbed off by City replacing Rodwell who will bring in £15M-20M and according to Mancininwho will sit on the bench. Now that would be a fantastic story.

There's a moral in there somewhere.

I would imagine Moyes' immediate priority won't be a like-for-like replacement but looking at weaker areas, surely a right-midfielder and maybe another forward.

Really we need a RB and a RM, but through Moyes' eyes we probably need another CM and Striker, and Hibbert/Neville/Osman are all brilliant and we don't need to strengthen their positions

Just cannot see Moyes looking at right-back as a priority.... even though it should be. He loves Hibbert and Neville, Coleman can play there too.

How about Johnson and Donovan? You know, since neither of them are right wingers, can play Donovan in his natural position upfront, and have JOhnson doing what Pienaar does but on the right. All we'd need then is a right footed Bainsey.

Bill's put a sneaky buy back clause of £1m in the fine print, RODWELL IN!

Seriously though Johnson please. And I'm going to throw Keisuke Honda out there too.

Its all fine and well having wingers who cut inside onto their stronger foot, IF you have a full back behind them who is strong going forward on the overlap. Left side we have this with Baines and Pienaar, but would you want Neville as our furthest player forward on the right, or Donovan?

A very, very fine point, and why personally I'd like us to try Coleman or buy a good attacking RB.
