Don't have the time to read this at the moment Bruce.

Could you summarise for me, preferably in the form of a limerick?

There once was a species on earth,
For whom it wasn't enough to give birth,
They made brains artificially,
That weren't that clever initially,
But grew too smart and ASSIMILATED THE HYU-MONS 10010 * RESIST AND BE DESTROYED BY THE ORDER OF GENERAL BINAROX * TERMINATE MESSAGE

It was better when Toby did it. .

Wouldn't be surprised if Bruce canned him to get better places in the regular comedy and rhyming comp's we have on here like...

With the angels
Or is he?

Is this thread about automation or AI? Seem vastly different to me.

But on AI, count me as a skeptic, and I'll remain that way until the robots choke out my last dying breath.

This (below) was a funny story to me. On one hand, the AI partners created their own language and made a more efficient use of their skills. On the other hand, they couldn't (?) perceive that they'd lost their way entirely, when they began communicating in an unknown language (since that information is useless to the user.)

Then again, I believe in the user...

This confuses a lot of people. Thinking both are the same. Largely because automated plants do use robots and people assume these robots have AI. Which of course they don't.

Just like people who confuse drone and robot. Not the same thing but generally talked about as if they are.

They are part of the same issue, one provides the ‘body’ the other the ‘brain’...........

"robotics" have long been used in manufacturing to replace human capital, and will be; when you replace the brain, you reduce human capital to never before seen levels (plus you incite the revolution)

Indeed, professional groups like to think that it’s only low skilled or manual work that will be replaced, they will be in for a bit of a shock........
