Roberto Martinez discussion

Would love to know how many people currently bigging up possession stats this season were taking the p1$$ out of Liverpool's we won the passing last season stats. Possession means nothing if it isn't converted into goals and that's why we have seen a change in Rodgers style of play this season. Yes the football is better to watch but there is no evidence that Everton are a better side now than they were under Moyes. Hopefully next season we won't continue winning the passing and actually win more games.

getting pretty bored of martinezs soundbitea such as this

"Today was a big, big moment to understand where we are as a team"

Yawn, we lost and created f all chances.

Give your head a wobble soft lad, robertos been in the job 8 months, we had 10 years of being plucky under moyes and got no where at least give martinez a season or two. As you said rodgers has adjusted his style a bit to be more ruthless and i have no doubt roberto will adjust his side accordingly.

I'm definitely in the positivity brigade On this. Our football this year has been A breath of fresh air and it's in a new managers first season playing a completely different brand of football. We are a couple of players Off been real contenders for at least top 4.
Where did the posters been negative think we would finish this season..?

Martinez is doing all the right things but we need Bill to piss or get off the pot it's no good trying to play football with less players than everyone else.

The peripheral stuff about the club off field is marvelous but Anfield showed the painful truth on it ie if the first 11 gets disrupted we are stuffed.

Bill has to move on or get money this summer there's up to 6 players needed and not utility players decent comfortable on the ball players athletic and strong enough to cope.

This will go tits up in the blink of an eye if we don't progress people's hopes have been raised by the first half of the season and Martinez clearly isn't a man to milk the club like the previous charlatan his stock is already through the roof someone with genuine money will come and off he'll go.

Bill needs to realise it has to happen this summer.

What's this give Martinez a season or two all about? I haven't said Martinez out. What have I actually said that you disagree with?

I agree. I've been saying for months I think martinez will walk within the next two years. He believes he has a large amount of money to spend. When he realises he doesn't it'll be interesting to see what happens

Martinez is doing a fantastic job. The fact people are annoyed, at losing to Chelsea 1-0 in stoppage time is testament to that.
I am not convinced he will leave either. He knows he can have the Everton job for as long as he likes, and we have lots of talented young players coming through. This guy turned down Villa and Liverpool to stay at Wigan out of loyalty.
I think he would be wary of City, Chelsea and Spurs. Arsenal may tempt him. At present, unfortunately I am not sure he would get the Barca job (who like to promote from within) or the Madrid job (they love big names) but maybe Athletico.
In short, don't worry. If he is given 15 million to spend in the summer he will get us a striker in. We hung on at home to Chelsea in September. Today we went away and matched them, as their equals.
I have been proven completely wrong on Martinez, and delighted to be done so. He is everything I could have hoped for and more. A few tricky results, when our squad has been depleted is not going to change that. Anyone who can make Steven Naismith look a good premiership player obviously has something about them!
