Roberto Martinez discussion

Either you don't know what extenuating circumstances means or you're off your rocker.

Martinez decides the players that come in, it is absolutely not an extenuating circumstance that those players did not perform to the desired standard. Unless you're happy to admit that the players who do work out were also out of his control...
Pipe down Taffy. A loan deal can (and did) go wrong not because it was a poor player to bring in - unless you call the two-times African Player of the Year a bad choice - but because the dressing room dynamics didn't work out. That's a suck it and see aspect to some loan deals you just cant forecast.

Apology accepted.

Cast as much doubt as you wish Dave, but are you also saying that when you realised Moyes was unable to take us further you didn't criticise him?
RM has been absolute toilet for over twelve month's now with little sign of change. I do hope you're right because it's looking unlikely he'll be replaced soon.

I support Everton, not Martinez, and I don't think he's a capable manager, nor showing any signs of improvement for the future.
...after 7 years in the job I washed my hands of him. Not exactly the knee jerk going on here with you and others over Martinez.

Its times like this I realise that I am only human.

I looked at the final figure on the right, when the only figure that matters is the merit based.

Yea that's why I knew you were wrong, I'd looked at the same web page a couple of hours ago.
It was the apology which freaked me out. I feel this is a turning point on GOT and may be the first step towards Modship for you.

Anyway, Martinez. He's plainly going to get more time, lets hope he delivers.

Seeing as we haven't played one game of the new season, last season is season we must make reference to.

All I've ever seen you do is use one season out of his entire Premier League career when he managed to get into the top half.
I dont think so. Just as Martinez wasn't allowed to rest on his laurels for too long after that first season, I'm not dwelling on what's past this season...that was ages ago. Over a month now.

Eat me.

He should be given more time, he made a lot of mistakes last season in my eyes, but he probably doesnt think he did, he probably blames the Europa, which makes him as clueless as David, but thats just speculation. Im sure nobody was happy with last season, from the board of jokers, to the clown in the dugout, to the wonderful pros like Phil Jagielka and the extreme talent like Mume Besic.

They should all be given a chance to "put things right", when I say all, clearly we should try and bin off some of the utterly horrific players we have in the squad.

The transfer window will set the tone for the early season, if we make some good signings and retain our better players the feel good factor will hopefully return, then its all about getting off to a good start, hopefully by October the Barca shouts will return again, cos it means we are heading in the right direction. In Moyes We Trust.

Stop using emotive cliches Dave. There's nothing reflexive about considering a manager's performance over two years.

Which player would that be exactly ?

Calling our manager a clown is far less of an insult than calling him a 'tvvat' among other things, which you did repeatedly while Moyes was in charge.

You only exhibit 'respect' when it suits your agenda.

There is when one of those years resulted in a record points total and some of the best football played by Everton for a generation.

You're being selective about what you base your judgement on and you know it. Two seasons worth of evidence and you prefer to isolate season two and judge him on that. If you're saying two seasons is enough to judge then use the whole of that period and not 50% of it.
