I will say this. Besic looked pretty tired by the time he was hooked. Normally, I would think it would be a justified substitution if Barry hadn't been so horrendous all night, and never even looked like putting a successful challenge in him when he was actually full of puff. It was a stunning subversion of last season, when Martinez looked to win the derby with his subs, to watching him make much needed substitutions in the 85th minute, and for one of those subs to be Alcaraz.
