I hear what your saying but my expectations at home to hull were to go at them and try to win the game.
Our excessive passing from the back is not due to the lack of confidence, our boring buildup is not 100% due to confidence. It's more likely Martinez footballing philosophy. We're pushing up too slowly it's clear for everyone to see, we're play beautiful attacking football when we attack with speed. It's clearly more footballing issue than confidence.

I'm prepared to give Martinez time. I can deal with mid table in his second season when many things aren't going our way - as long as players and manager can learn from it.
What is concerning is that is seems like we are actually regressing as the season goes on, and we're almost at halfway point. Things that 40000 Evertonians can see, Martinez doesn't seem to address (dare I say the words corners, slow or wingers).
I may have let out a couple of boos myself tonight. That deserved it. It doesn't mean I want Martinez to go, or that I want half of the players to be sacked. It means that what I saw was less than our best by a long margin, from the manager and most players, and has been so on too many instances this season. Not sure if showing frustration helps or not, but putting a positive spin on everything doesn't seem to be doing the trick either, so a bit of tough love from the fans can't hurt.

Right gone away, had a fume, coming back
1) We might be getting over the hump with injuries but the key lynchpin of our success last year - the full backs and the Barry/McCarthy combo - have been injured and/or slightly nullified
2) Howard/Distin and to a lesser extent Osman have declined due to age. Maybe Barry a bit as well but he's been injured. It's to be expected but the sheer rapidity is something else.
3) However we've lost pace on the counter and we tippy-tappy it round the box too much
4) Teams have worked out how we play and are countering it pretty effectively. Press high cut off the front four then sit back as we try to build slowly. When we run at them (Mirallas!) things happen
5) We've played very well in Europe. How we go from beating Wolfsburg to losing at Crystal Palace and drawing with Sunderland...
6) I just think our squad is too small to cope with Europa and the league and we need to seriously start blooding the youth and strengthening.

I don't know what to think anymore. That was absolute garbage tonight.
For the final half an hour we didn't even fathom a chance, not one shot in anger. Against Hull City. At Home.
I honestly do not know why I bother. I had such hope that this season would be great too. Europa has been great but you simply cannot ignore the bread and butter of domestic football. We have been turgid in the League and it needs adressing asap.
