If it's on Twitter it must be true.

No it's not.

The most important stat is the one you said before that - 8 from 26 - which isn't good enough no.

But last season doesn't matter. It's in the past. If you include his second season, it's only fair to include his first. Also that's only league games.

This season matters. In the league it hasn't been good enough. There's been a lot of near misses and that's unfortunate.

But, since the turn of the year, the general standard of our play has improved and we're now starting to see the fruits of that. Onwards and upwards and onto Villa.

I wasn't dismissing his first season, but it serves to remind us of what might have been. His first season was great, he deserves all credit for it but he then has to take responsibility for the fall off in form. The reason I count last year when looking at what he has achieved is that he had 12 wins, he is on course for 12 wins this year. That would be no overall improvement.
He is our manager for the rest of the season, I want to see Everton winning as many of our remaining league games as possible, I want to see Everton winning the FA Cup Final.
I bought into the idea that we had turned a corner when we won 3 games scoring 9 and conceding none and then West Brom beat us. I know we had 30+ shots and 75% of the ball but we were beaten. I watched the game on Saturday, I didn't see anything that made me feel we were on the up. Bournemouth had 7 changes, we scored with a deflection and through terrible defending from a terrible corner. It was a shame the linesman got the Lukaku offside wrong. Not to mention the penalty.
It is that Everton thing, a bit of success and we feel we are on our way just to be kicked in the nuts.
As you say "Onwards and upwards". Everton 8- 0 Villa.

Just like WBA last week...

By far from the best display yesterday but we needed the result and got it.

There's 12 games left, so you say he's on course for 12 wins total but there's nothing to say we can't get more - just as we could easily not.

As we've said, trick is to take it all game by game now.
