Yeah pretty much started supporting everton around 2004. I think martinez outlook is great but to conceded 6 goals in that manner I can never respect the guy
I guess you had little respect for Moyes as well, not having a pop but all managers get a hiding during their tenure.

I think if you had supported Everton for as long as me (I am getting on) and you had that outlook you would of had no respect for any Everton manager

Tough life being a Blue, and it don't get easier :)

Speaking of results that hurt; I will never, EVER, get over the 86 season. In particular the cup final.

I've had a twitch ever since. Well, not really like.

That was a choice between Everton 1st team or Barcelona B team.

The point you make is essentially right, he would jump at the chance to play for Barca's first team. I am not convinced that is on the horizon yet, even less so in January.

Like most football fans we tend to overate our players. Barca moved on Sanchez because he wasn't good enough for their first team. It gives an indication of the ability of their front 3. In honesty, Suarez, Sanchez and Messi remain on a different planet to Deulofeu. I can't seem them moving any of them on to give him a chance.

I think for Deulofeu he will be reluctant to move back unless he sees a chance for him to play games. I can't see that this season. Going back to being a squad player, just at the time when a consistent run of games is starting to show his development would be very foolish and I think he grasps that.

We also benefit from Enrique being there who doesn't fancy him and won't want to break up the front 3 mid season. In the summer it might be a different picture though.

I suspect if Deulofeu can show the consistency across a season there may be some movement this summer. All the times he remains an outstanding prospect I can't see it though, they currently have 2 or 3 teenagers who are as talented as Deulofeu was at the same age. It would be silly for him to go back before he can really demand a first team place on merit not on potential.

They also have Turan who they payed close to 40m Euros for but, because of their transfer ban, has been sitting kicking his heels for six months so he'll be a priority for game time whenever they need to use a different wide player.

He was at Barcelona in the summer, under contract. He wasn't forced to come to Everton. He chose to

Staying at Barcelona wasn't a choice he had any control over

Nonsense, they have no young talents who are on Deulofeu's level, same age group or otherwise...There's Gerard and then a dropoff until you reach players like Adama, Munir, Lee Seung Woo, etc.

Luis Enrique's position on it as well as the damage done from sending him into exile for 2 seasons will play a role but as even Roberto Martinez only recently confirmed, Everton will be powerless to keep the player from returning to Barcelona should they exercise the buyback next summer or in 2017...Moreover, Roberto confirmed the terms of the deal only allow for the buyback to occur in summer meaning the winter window is not a possibility

Incidentally, Sanchez wasn't moved on because he wasn't good enough for the 1st team

Except Arda isn't a winger, he'll play as an attacking midfielder for Barcelona

What ever the situation is he wont be going this january. It would be stupid move from Barcelona too you know. They unsettled the player just a while ago...and they would look totally erratic if they would demand him back after so short period of developing. Im 100% sure theres more to that deal. Stones might be a pawn in this game too.
