If these are his squad fillers fine...

2 of quality needed now, NOT from last years wigan side! Moses and Honda would make for a good window IMO. And still if heitinga goes, another CB.

All we need now is a few more players from a team not in the bottom 3 for 80% of the last 3 years. Kind of crazy really trying to get into europe and spending about 10 mill stripping the assets of a relegated side - manager, backroom, players... But on the trying to stay positive side, Kone should have some goals in him and the new players are probably an improvement on the 3 that left.

Well when you think about it these players brought in are better than the players released at the end of the season. All we need now in my opinion is a creative midfielder like honda who can fill the void that we haven't had since arteta did his ACL. I can see Kone kicking us some goals and with a better season from jelly I can see us challenging for top 4. Hopefully Martinez plays Barkley and Duffy more often and give other youth players who deserve it a go as well.

Think he's doing exactly the right thing here. He's plugging the gaps in the side with good solid players, who may actually improve the side.

Kone is better than what we have on last seasons evidence.
Robles is a genuine contender to Howard's throne, no wessells, Nash or mucha here, a young exciting prospect.
Alcaraz I haven't seen play so much, but after watching Heitinga last year I'd bet my last pound he'll play better than that.

And these are just the squad player signings before we've sold anyone.

Robles is the one that concerns me the most.

In no way is he a contender to Howards throne. He is far too inexperienced. Just because he is spanish does not make him good.

Wessels and Mucha were better keepers but as neither was SPanish or young they were not fancied by our fans.

He's 23 mate, a baby for a keeper. He kept a clean sheet at goodison in the cup last year and went on to play in the final and keep a clean sheet then as well. Good signing, great prospect. The negativity in here even when we sign players is an absolute joke, I really wonder why some people bother following Everton if all they're gonna do is moan about it

Not what I am saying at all.

I was actually being positive about our previous back-up keepers.
The 2 games in question, Robles had next to nothing to do.
Mucha would have been safer back-up than Robles IMO. Not a negative statement, just my opinion.

BTW, I am all for getting rid of the negativity on this board but you cannot stop people from airing their opinions.

If you think he had nothing to do in the final you might wanna watch the highlights again mate. Top save from tevez with his feet is the save I remember, sure there was more too.

The thing which puts him above wessells/Mucha for me is the fact that he's young, will improve while he's here, and may end up replacing Howard. The other keepers we've had we're never realistically going to become our number one

I hope you are right. My concern is that if Howard were to break a leg would Robles be upto being our main keeper for half of the season?

Oh noes, not a 29 YEAR OLD STRIKER!!!!!:o

I bet he'll be walking on to the pitch with a zimmer frame. Dead old that.

Don't forget he also signed a keeper! I mean that's a fairly unimportant position, in fact i'm not sure why we even bother with them, just play an extra striker...so long as he's not TWENTY NINE!!!

Haha what? Who said him being Spanish made him good?

Him showing a decent amount of ability aged 23 in important games means he's good.
