Shapps getting a mention as leader now?
Do they really think people would vote for that dishonest bumbling oaf.
Don't know why anyone would want the job anyway.
They are going to get beat no matter who they put up.
May as well wait and then put yourself forward after that.
Think it would be smarter for the tories to just call a snap election and catch Labour off guard. Especially if they can roll out a manifesto.

They need to do something .
Dying infront of everyone better to be put out of there misery.
Then they can regroup and be critical of everything .
And swing to the right .
Fortunately can't see anyone among them that can lead a party going forwards.

I’d imagine their next leadership contest to be between Bavermann and Mourdant unless someone new comes on the scene. The thought of a Braverman led opposition is horrific.

The membership seem intent on swinging further and further right. They had a potentially electable figure in Rory Stewart but he simply was not racist enough for the members

The disastrous 80s economic/deregulatory policies of Reagan and Thatcher have matured after a couple of political generations to improverish huge swathes of their respective electorates.

As there's little left to squeeze out of the public purse, both the Conservatives & Republicans have pivoted to culture war nonsense to try and stay in power.
Government spending is the highest it's been as a proportion of GDP since the war. We like to portray things as being easily fixable if only Labour get in, but there's a reason why they're not proposing radical changes. We're already being taxed a lot and getting less and less in return. We can only hope that's just a case of how the money is being spent.

That spending has got a tory levy built in, let's see what we can get out of it for myself, family ,friends donors ect.
Government spending needs a serious looking at from top to bottom.

Of course it is. lol
