There’s long been a rift in government between Sunak who understands the economic need for legal migration in the Brexit aftermath, and his Home Secretaries who have been desperate to close the door on most legal migration,

They might understand the ‘economic need’ but that’s largely because there are millions in this country unable to work because they’re on NHS waiting lists.
i can’t see a battlefield where they’ll have enough to win a massive number of voters.

Two things on this. Right-wing Tory is a massive tautology in this iteration of them. Secondly, if she’s so proud of him why doesn’t she resign too?
I'd say Cameron tried to keep the party from imploding by appeasing the far right element with a Brexit vote. Those that have followed have done nothing but lash knives into each other's backs and further destabilise their party.

Andrea Jenkyns isn't a minister so has nothing to resign from.
But she is just repeating what she's been banging on about for weeks, she's very open about wanting Sunak gone and last I heard wanted Priti Patel to put herself forward in the aftermath.
Even this Conservative Party surely can't have a third unelected Prime Minister in under two years.
