Right sided Pienaar + Baines?

Looking at Anichebe playing yesterday with Coleman running the show it really was quite good. I think there is potential there for the same sort of left sided partnership Baines and Pienaar showed week in week out last season. What do you guys think? Do you think Moyes has loan plans for Coleman? And if Anichebe does keep his place at RMF, which to be honest wouldn't be that much of a bad thing considering recent performances, what happens to our dearest Bilyaletdinov?

The Right Side thing was what saved Victor . You're right , we'll use it loads this season .

To a certain extent it all depends on what happens - or doesn't - with Pienaar and/or Arteta as well. I agree, though, I thought they did well.

But, with all due respect to the A-League, I'd prefer to see some signs of success against more tactically-aware teams such as Wolfsburg or Blackburn.

Only 1 will leave , with Peanut the likely stayer , as we stand today .

I believe our preferred option was the alternative way around . It certainly would've been mine , but , circs are circs , an' WE ARE POTLESS !!!

If he continues to play like he is then he deserves to start against Blackburn, his performances against Sydney and Melbourne have been top class, I've been really impressed with his all round composure and intelligence on the pitch, and that's not even mentioning his sheer physical presence and pace. He's unorthodox and fullbacks don't like playing against him.

They won't be replicating Pienaar and Baines stylistically, neither have the technique IMO, but their pace and direct style could be a nightmare to defend against in tandem. They're both still essentially unknown quantities to the majority of prem clubs too.

I must say I wasn't a huge fan of Vic when he played on the right last season. I think he has potential as a striker, but saw no evidence of his abilities as a right sided midfielder.

However, the World Cup has chenged my opinion on the way Everton's system should/could work next season. Two of the more successful sides in the World Cup, Uruguay & Holland, Played with 3 central midfielders - 2 deep lying & 1 more attack minded. Both used a lone centre forward with attacking wide players. However, both used a really hard working non-stop action type wide player, Cavani & Kuyt. Now, as much as I hate to admit it, but Kuyt had a fine world cup for the Dutch. He and Cavani were often the link players between midfield & attack & even more often the extra man in midfield. Pienaar effectively played a similar role last season, even though it's not really his thing.

So anyway, after all that, I think my point is that I believe Vic actually does have a lot of potential on the right of an attacking 3!

So Vic isn't [Poor language removed] after all (at least not at the moment). Nice to see majority of fans once again being too quick with their "final" judgments.

I will never understand that - when we are acquiring player most of the posts is like "Moyes will make him a better player", but then player is struggling and 90% of fans is calling for his head, totally forgeting that some players needs more time to develop.

It also shows that most of the fans don't have the rights to expect any loyalty from players, because they are not loyal too regarding their own players.

We managed to get by without Arteta during his period of injury fairly well, but we've not had a long period without Pienaar, so if one of them has to leave, perhaps Arteta leaving will place Moyes on familiar ground, where the other option is unknown territory. I'm hoping we push forward as a club whatever the outcome. Every transfer and every game is just another page in a long history at Everton Football Club.

You're joking me? We were [Poor language removed] without Arteta, we started picking up when he returned, its not coincidence.

It could indeed be a strong partnership down the right, we may also find that it improves Victor's all round game as it seems to have already. He could easily get better and better at tracking back and being in good positions defensively the more he plays that role. One things for sure tho, Coleman deserves some substantial game time this season.

As for Bilya, I don't see a problem really. If he's going to get in the team he's got to merit his selection with good performances, it's basic competition for places.
