Bit of a shame Chelsea have gone for Raphinha, leaves us trying to squeeze the appropriate amount out of a notoriously tight-fisted Spurs. £60m will do it, which leaves us with £54m after Watford get their cut. It’s OK, but it’s no better than that.

How is playing under Conte in a team that has already proved they supply there forwards very well a bad move for him?
He won't be a starter - he's not getting in ahead of Kane or Son - so he's going there to sit on the bench. Best of luck to him though. If he went to Chelsea he'd have more chance of starting - in fact if he went anywhere else than Spurs he's probably be starting.

Its OK due to the fact that the whole world knows we need money.

Im shocked we managed to get 60m, if we have, we really dont have any bargaining power.

Dunno really, expected their revenues to be down. Probably just a perception thing with the empty seats last season
They have tons of commercial deals mate that will more than make up for a small loss in matchday revenue. And remember the assets were merely frozen by the gov.

It's Chelsea we're talking about here, literally the European champions 13 months ago.

Yes really.

If I bought an Ice Hockey team I wouldn't have a clue who's a good Ice Hockey player or not - would you?

Wouldn't you therefore hire people who are in the Ice Hockey business who know the sport?

So you go and hire highly rated people in the business to sign players - why would you then proceed to stop said employee signing Ice Hockey players when you haven't a clue if they are any good or not?
You look at the money, anyone with half a clue would look at bidding up on an already overpriced bid for a bang average Icelandic player and say stop right there, or panic buying on a player from a club that refused to allow you power, just to make a signing on deadline day or allowing someone to spend £52m in a January window on two players only to lose both on free transfers within 5 years

There's the 5 subs rule and the absolutely madly condensed season.

There's 5 games before the end of August

I know what you're saying mate, but I don't necessarily demand that they know much about football. I want them to know about business, so they turn Everton into a money making machine, that makes its own cash so we don't have to rely on owners cash, just their business acumen. Right now we are run terribly poorly, having to go cap in hand to the owner every year

Sports a unique business - you can be highly successful in any other field but without the right people around you (and a slice of good luck) its not an easy task taking a club with a demanding customer/fanbase as ours and having us competing with clubs that are financial monsters with rules in place that give them a leg up before the season has even started.

Leicesters is the only club who've gotten it right in how many takeovers we've since seen in England since the PL began?

He will start plenty of games

True - but still means he's a squad player.
He'll compete primarily with Kulusevski

The point of having a good squad is that you can rotate without any negative impact

Also means you don't have to run key players into the ground

Richarlison just wants to play Champions League and play at the highest level possible. Spurs give him that.

Not denying that. He'll sit on the bench more than be on the pitch though.
