Pros and Cons to this situation – because a balance view is important.
Pros
Richie leaving one day is inevitable and given his poor form last season and the obvious lack of money being spent anywhere other than those few big teams this may be the best chance to sell and make serious money on him. I think at best He’ll give us one more season and then push to leave and next season we may not get the sort of money we could potentially prize from PSG now.
A big sale would solve our FFP issues and give us the freedom to rebuild the entire squad which it desperately needs. This is still the same team that has finished 12 & 10 the last two years and it’s not going to get much better until the squad has a pretty substantial overhaul.
Richie would be sold to a different league and we wouldn’t be subjected to him tearing it up in the premierleague and scoring past us every season.
Cons
THERE ARE 4 DAYS LEFT
THIS SEEMS TO HINGE ON MBAPPE LEAVING AND THAT’S NOT CERTAIN YET EITHER SO WE MAY HAVE 3 DAYS, OR TWO, OR ONE!!
WE ARE SHOCKINGLY SLOW ARE COMPETING TRANSFERS
OUR BOARD/BRANDS/MOSHIRI CAN’T SPEND MONEY WISELY – IT’S LIKE EVERY DECISION WE MAKE IS THE WRONG ONE
RICHIE IS ONE OF – IF NOT OUR BEST PLAYER
IF WE SELL HIM, EVERYONE WILL KNOW WE SUDDENLY HAVE CASH SO PRICES ARE GOING TO GO UP AND WHY WOULD TEAMS SELL THEIR BEST PLAYERS TO US 4 DAYS BEFORE THE WINDOW CLOSES?
DID I MENTION OUR BOARD AND ALL INVOLVED ARE USELESS WHEN IT COMES TO SIGNING PLAYERS?
For what it’s worth I can completely understand why Richie may want to go. I mean, PSG, Champions League and playing along side Messi and his best mate. Whatever happens the club need to, for once get it right and by that I mean if we sell (and if PSG are serious I think we will) then be prepared, be proactive and come out of this better than we were. Brands and Co need to actually earn their money for a change.
