Ey?
So he's the reason for us being crap now?
C'mon BT, there's a multitude of reasons for us being crap.
But he is def a factor in the on field crappiness, as he is with some of the brilliance.
It'd be good to see that statistic/heat map of where he goes down, how many times, in what type of situations.
There has been too may times now, where the critical play was him either making the pass or beating his man, only to fall to the ground too easily, or more to the point, looking to go down. For the sake of the form and development of the team it has to stop.
He is the creator of his own misfortune...and the teams. By looking to win frees he has become marked as an easy target by the opposition to stop the Everton's attacking movements. Make no mistake, he is the main attacking threat, he's the record transfer, he's Silva's main man - yet the hindrance outweighs the brilliance. We can't have this in a side that struggles to get out of first/second gear.
Imo he has become a big a problem as Walcott - in not being able to get the ball to other players, in space, in very threatening positions.
Silva needs to abandon his pressing system and the DCL role and put Richarlison in the centre where his is most threatening and effective.
The tackling stat is an interesting one. Do we really want him to be the one at the top of those stats. Surely its affecting his ability to beat players one on one, as if he's become hard wired to contact rather than evading it.
