I simply cannot stand his poor character. The way he is always throwing himself to the ground every time he is so much as breathed on. The constant turnovers from poor selfish decisions; trying to shoot or dribble through defenders when its not on and there are better options available. The unnecessary lack of composure; getting into the faces of the opposition, and always looking to instigate unsportsmanlike behavior.
He is nearly as dirty a footballer as Diego Costa. The thought of kids buying a kit with his name on it and looking to him as a role model disgusts me, and knowing the club I support is providing that platform and endorsing it makes it so much worse.
Everton played very well today due to an effort of hardworking, passionate, and team orientated play. Its just a shame the squad's greatest talent doesn't possess the maturity to join in. We won in spite of Richarlison today.
Contrary to others responses i think your view is admirable. Its great to champion fair play and want kids to learn right and wrong...
However, the very best players in the world have a dirty streak + play act + con the ref.
He is a winner.
Ronaldo falls on his bum all the time, uses gamesmanship.
Roy keane, Vieira and other winners always went about conning the ref...and tweedledum Steven Gerrard was one of the biggest divers in the league.
If (like me) you had spent a bit of time focusing on Richarlison today then yes he went over softly a few times but he was also manhandled, kicked and pushed a number of times (especially) by Diop who i consider to be a top centre back.
Do you rate Gomes? Gomes is another so called 'dirty' player but gets away with a lot because he doesnt 'look' like an ugly monster.
Zidane used gamesmanship and Keane said on tv that he was one of the dirtiest players he went up against.
Its all the same and if richarlison wasnt a winner then he wouldnt even attempt to con the ref.
For what its worth, i think we should play a fluid 3 at the top with Richarlison + Kean + one new player. Pace and goals.
I think that was the idea behind us going for Zaha.
