Insane that Silva was that blind, stupid or stubborn to realise that none of our strikers could play alone upfront but still didn’t change it. Same with the zonal marking , he’s continuously shipped the most goals in the league from set plays with 3 different clubs and still thinks his way is the right way. DCL, richy, tuson niasse ..... none of them can play the lone striker and we are seeing what an improvement can be made simply changing the formation to fit the players and not the other way round

Can't play alone in the sense that very few strikers can play the position when the only support is someone like Sigurdsson who had no impact on the play. I think both DCL and Richarlison would do fine playing as the lone striker in a well put together attack, but Silva didn't have that. Right now they both need to play and both play best as center forwards so a formation where they both do that is the way to go.

Yeah, terrible situation. 3 points off the top of La Liga, favorable champions league knockout draw, still in the domestic cup competition, best player in the world, $1billion in annual revenue...Just awful. I pity them.
