Not really sure what the problem is with it to be fair. The guy has played a huge part in making it the most exciting league in the world and made clubs super rich in the process with TV deals etc. So nothing wrong with asking clubs to show a bit of gratitude.

None of you know what he's gonna do with the cash either, he may well donate it to a worthy cause, yet you'll have spent 10 pages chastising him in the meantime.

A good guy that's done an outstanding job and deserves credit for it.
In financial terms he's done a good job no doubt.
For me he's destroyed forever the game I grew up loving. The game in which Nottm Forest could be promoted from the old Div2 and become league champions in the next season.
What we have now is a mini league of 5 or 6 money bag clubs.
Boring and predictable unless you support one of those.
Thank you Scudamore for making a commodity out of part of England's heritage.

Players get all the clubs money. He hasn’t made the clubs rich, he’s made players rich.

If they want a gesture, get every player that is playing in the premier league right now to donate a weeks wages.

Does my head in the money they are pocketing. Everton should comfortably be able to afford to build their own stadium with the premier league money alone if the players didn’t steal almost every penny out of the club. And that goes for all prem clubs.

Honestly - who needs £300k+ a week ffs.

To be fair, still possible, however unlikely. Leicester City went from Championship to PL Champions in three seasons. I agree with the sentiment of your post, but money alone isn't everything...... it helps, but it ain't everything. Spurs didn't spend a penny over the summer and they are in the Champions League places. Fulham spent close to 100m over the summer and they're at the bottom of the league. The mighty Ev were 18th in the league this time last season after spending a King's ransom over the summer.

With some alleged help from performance-enhancing drugs...

Scandalous, no other way to put it. A multi, multi millionaire several times over, already being given a golden handshake and the FA is rubbing working-class fans' noses in it by publicly asking their clubs to donate money most fans could only dream of to further increase the money in this man's bank account. Absolutely appalling idea.
