Thoughts are with you and your family, mate. Not surprised by Everton, we're more than a football club. I'll ensure to show my respect at HT tomorrow along with everyone else, I hope the boys get the points for Paul.

Tragic news mate. I hope the club's actions (and performance on the pitch!) go some way to making this difficult time a tiny bit easier for you tomorrow at least.

Thoughts with you and your family.

Condolences to you and your family mate, I was truly sorry to hear about your tragic loss.

Gestures like this from the club will seem like nothing to outsiders (and even perhaps to the more cynical blues)
There's no doubt that in the grand scheme of things it is indeed unimportant. I know however how much these little unsolicited acts of kindness can bring comfort at times like this.

Recent events have left many of us cursing the club and even questioning why we put ourselves through the agony of being a blue.
Well THIS is why.
Everton FC - not just a football club, but a family, a way of life.
I BLOODY LOVE YOU EVERTON
Deepest sympathy to you and all your family mate, will be giving a clap tomorrow for him.
Beautifully put mate, been through something similar and i cant praise the club enough. They was brilliant to me and my family,we may tear our hair out at times and be fuming all week after another poor defeat but the club we love and support really is special.
I REALLY LOVE YOU EVERTON TO

Sorry to hear that mate, terrible news.

I'm sure all Blues will get behind you and your family and give your cousin a massive round of applause.

What a moving (and well-written) message, you are obviously a family of wordsmiths.
Thinking of you all tomorrow.

Thank you. I work as a social media manager but I don't profess to have an ounce of the ability Paul had. He was a real talent in his industry but a real character to go with it.

To you all, these replies have really moved me and I will be sure to pass them on to his brother who often comes on here to browse.

A heartfelt thank you.

...it's clear from articles at the time that Paul was a thoroughly good young man and one that his family and friends were very proud of. The world will be poorer for his loss and it's good the club are showing their respect in this way.

Well said lad!

Please accept my condolensces mate, it aleasy grieves me to hear af anybody that young having their life cut short, and in such tragic circumstances too! It was a marvelous touch by the club and on a personal level by Bill Kenwright, whatever his shortcomings as a chairman etc. The man represents Everton magnificently when called upon, well done Everton, well done Bill and well done your uncle for insisting they were brought up properly, RIP.

Morning blues.

Just when I thought I couldn't love Everton any more than I do they have surpassed their own reputation this week.

My little cousin Paul was tragically killed in Sri Lanka last Thursday in a crocodile attack, he was 24. You may have seen it on the front of the national papers last Friday and on the news.

I was meant to be going to Lyon with him in a few weeks. He was a massive blue living in Surrey, fighting the blue fight surrounded by Chelsea and Spurs fans. He was a member of ESCLA and attended all our London games as well as a fair whack of Goodison games too. His dad, my uncle, is originally from Formby and brought him and his brother up the only way.

Everton's response to this has been overwhelming. It took them hours to remember him in an official tweet before the chairman of ESCLA phoned my uncle to tell him to expect a call. It was from Bill Kenwright.

Then yesterday the family got a call from the club to let them know that Paul's mum, dad and girlfriend would be invited to the game on Saturday as guests of honour in the Directors box.

We may persist in playing Ashley Williams, we may have missed the boat on a striker and the Chang was warm for the last 13 years....but in this respect there really is no greater club.

Paul will be remembered at half time tomorrow, it's going to be a tough day for us so give him a clap for me.

COYB.

Deepest sympathy to you and your family.
Glad to hear the club has done what it does best, hope it has brought some comfort to you all.

It shouldn't do, but finding out that he was a match-going Blue and not a sofa-Blue will make his loss feel even more real to Blues everywhere.

Keep following the Blues young man. You'll have the best view of all from up there. God bless.

Sorry to read this mate, I hoe you and your family take a little bit of pride in the gesture the club have taken. I can’t imagine what it feels like @LydiateLee
