REMEMBERING GARY SPEED 2 YEARS ON

An awful event, that wiped out the life of a great sportsman & a genuinely nice fella.

Depression, petty argument, money worries, an issue with his spouse.........we'll never know what drove him to do what he did, but it's a crying shame that he got himself into such a dark place, that he saw taking his own life as his preferred option.

R.I.P Gary.

I have my own theories

But this is a tribute thread, not the right place for idea throwing

My last but vivid memory of him was when I was stood outside Winslow and he was walking along Goodison road holding hand of little girl! daughter I guess about 4 years of age wearing everton shirt with radzinski on. Probably about 8 years ago now. Such a shame.

Gary epitomised Everton, and what i've always wanted from someone in the royal blue jersey......technically great, full of energy and genuine enthusiasm, real team player, totally down-to-earth and knew what Everton meant. Still saddened about his death, and how it may have come about.....so hard to understand how someone so outwardly confident and happy could be so inwardly desperate enough to allow his demons to take control.

Rest in Peace Gary.....definitely a case of once a Blue always a Blue.
