Just reading the thread on super Kev and it made me think why do we remember some more than others for their endevours.

Super kev was a revelation as we all remeber and single handedly scored the goals that saved our bacon that season.
But dare you remeber Mickael Madar! who's six league goals in the second half of the 1997-98 season surely went a long way to acheveing
what super kev did a few years later.

O.k he was a bit of a tit and he did miss that sitter in the derby, just goes to prove though the fate is indeed a fickle mistress.

Jesus i remember him lol shame really he did look like a good player if fate hadn't been so cruel

Those six goals were vitally important to staying up.

But I can remember him being really lazy, and he got a load of [Poor language removed] from the gwladys during one game because people thought that he was faking an injury in order to get taken off because he couldnt be arsed.

My dad used to hate him.

I met him in the dressing room at Selhurst Park when my lad was mascot. I think that was his debut. Seemed like a nice fella, although it seemed that he knew no english at all. Pretty sure he scored. You beat us 3-1. Jan. 10 1998

yep, think it was the 3rd one, half volley if i remember it rightly

I remember he scored twice against Chelsea in 1998?
we won 3-1 an duberyy scored an own goal
that was one of the best goodison games ive been to
possibly the last time we beat Chelsea too?

oh mercy. that derby miss. he had an open goal in front of the kop and sliced it wide. that cut deep at the time. i was in a bar in london taking a day trip from uni(!) and was crying in to my 4 pounds a pint beer.

Madar

Yeah , that derby miss was bad , and if you get an old daily post of the time , you would see L.C.A.B. with his head in his hands , to the right of the post ,as he does it !! However , I seem to remember a trip to Spurs where he got 2?? Anyone else recall this ?? Both goals in the opposite end to us , is that the Paxton Rd ?? Anyway , middle age is defo setting in so I may be wrong . I seem to remember it was Grand National day . As I say , I may be insane , but there you are . Stay Staunch !!! L.C.A.B. (y)

He got one in a 1-0 win at Blackburn i think. I remember it cus my Nan passed away that day.

I loved Madar, he was just mad and you did'nt know what he would do next. Always remember that derby sitter myself but i have forgiven him now. I wonder what he is doing now!
