For the first time since last Sunday I feel optimistic about our chances.

Looking at Burnley today: they are utter muck. I cant see them rallying to overhaul a 4 point lead we have. For all our faults we have a team that can duke it out with decent teams. For that reason I actually think our *harder* run in might suit us.

100% agree. The bigger the team at Goodison then the better the crowd as well.

If West Ham can beat Burnley (which I expect) and we take Leicester that 7 point gap will be a psychological hammer blow for the clarets.

We would have to be beyond bad to go down now. I've said that all season based on the current bottom 3 and stand by it. We are giving it a good go, mind.

"If" West Ham can get the points against Burnley next weekend it gives us a heck of an opportunity to open a seven point lead on them, we have to take it knowing who and where our next fixture is, that said I feel a hell of a lot more optimistic of our chances than I did on Wednesday night!!!

Could still have a nervy ending. Absolutely need to beat Leicester at home and get at least a point vs. Chelsea. Assuming we get beat in the next 2 away games that's 4 points from next four games. Means Burnley would have to win 3 of those 4 to overtake us but you can't discount that.

Be a lot less panicky if we beat Leicester and they lose to West Ham. If that happens then that turbo charges the remainder of the season for us and has Burnley on the brink.

Bottom line - focus on beating Leicester. Game by game for us.

We got a 4 point lead Burnley have won 4 games in 30 to over take us they need to win 2 in 8. There down there because there crap and have very little quality.

We are down there because we are crap but have quality, just need to unlock it.

Reckon Burnley will bounce back against West Ham and Southampton and we'll all be wetting beds again. Then they will get thrashed by Wolves off the back of having had to play three games in a week and everything will be fine again. Us beating United has given Wolves something to play for now in terms of European qualification, whereas they might otherwise have been on the beach.

With it looking likely that a low-mid 30’s points total being enough for safety. One things for certain, whichever teams go down this year absolutely 100% deserves to.

Typical they have southampton as they go through their best impression of a pub team.

Defo. That's the way I see it going too. They'll be beaten handily by WHU. Then we'll be 4 points ahead with a game in hand. If we beat Leicester a few days later we'll place massive pressure on them beating Southampton...a dangerous team to face.

Have to say Dave how the "F" did they beat us ?

….ffs, give us a chance. Can’t you just say we’ll definitely go down?

Got a bad feeling about that West Ham Burnley game next week with WHU being in Europe this week but what a weekend for us.

Fully expected us to be 18th, same points as Watford, and two adrift of Burnley. But we are four points above Burnley, Watford and Norwich all but gone, and we seen that the players will fight and that they do care. Good weekend for us for once, long overdue.

Work like we did on Saturday and we will be more than alright.
Moyes will be desperate to break through the 60 point mark this season and secure EL football again. Burnley at home he knows is a golden chance to get them nearer to that.
