….I suspect Benitez is still being paid by us. It’s what we tend to do rather than pay them off.

if this is the case, not sure how this works out if he takes another job. I recall Koeman getting paid by us & the Dutch FA.
Yeah, didn't he only take a small salary, like £600k or something like that. Because we were obligated to continue paying him his contracted salary.

I get the feeling with these things. We sack a manger. Instead of a lump sum, we pay them. If they get a new job we make up the difference until until, their contract with us would have expired.
Wonder if their is a case that if you move jobs after thatz the. You lose any money from us.
In think I read Koeman lost out on £6m by joining Barca. Must of been us stopping paying him.

They have 4 games in the next 2 weeks.

Everton only have 2.

If they dont get the 4pts needed to go level by the end of April we'll have 6 games in May compared to their 4.

Hopefully this really demotivates their players.
Could mean worse goal difference(negative I know but possible)
Hopefully it does but any bounce at this stage could be good for them
Still need a win v Leicester imo

It appears they have thrown the towel in. Can only think they are either going for a clean slate next season, or hoping against hope they get a big Dunc manager type reaction and somehow get past us.
If a clean slatez, they can't surely think about Big Sam or the Spanish fraud.
You would have thought they would have been better sticking with Dyche and trying to 0-0 their way through games and seee where that got them.
For Me, I think this gives us a massive boost and may mean we get away with this.

…yep, Burnley have taken a risk. Time will tell if it’s one that pays off but if it doesn’t have an instantly positive impact then we need to take advantage.

I just see it that they are 4pts behind us and are playing 4 games in the next 15 days.

If they dont catch us by then, we'll have 6 games to their 4 remaining.

…thought it might interest some to see the reaction of Burnley fans to the sacking. They seem genuinely gutted.
Just seen the news. It is a bizarre decision to say the least.
Rather than a last ditch decision for survival I see it as they’ve accepted relegation…

I fancy us to get something from both games against Leicester. Surely their mind is on Europe? How could it not be? Once in a lifetime opportunity for club and most of those players, to win a European trophy. Especially since they could be playing West ham in the final. Surely all their eggs go in that basket.
Call ame a foolz but I could easily see us taking 4 points from those 2 games.

….we need a buffer, a gap between us and the bottom 3 regardless of the number of games left. Leicester at home is massive, it could go a long way to giving us that breathing space.

They've definitely not.

Theyve got a few very winnable games coming up - their next home game is an evening one against Southampton. They should win that.

They'd have kept Dyche if they thought relegation was inevitable - they're hoping a new manager can come in and novelty/new manager bounce gives them a run that keeps them up
