Relegation Thread 25-26

I could see them doing a Leicester. All that’s missing is them sacking Frank at some point and giving it to an ex Spurs player or a retired former manager like Sherwood or something. On paper you’re right they should have more than enough but they’ve got a bad blend of injury crisis, unpopular manager, booing fans, young team with no experience of a relegation battle.

Brighton should have more than enough but they’re another one with the fans on their backs and an inexperienced team for a relegation scrap.

It would be hilarious to see Sherwood back there. Maybe Jenas could be convinced to come in as his assistant too for maximum comedy value.

All those factors make it a toxic place, you're right. I just feel like when they get to April they will be out of Europe, with multiple players back and probably a different manager. The fans will likely drop some of their ire for a bit and the team will win 2-3 in a row and pull clear.

Brighton seem to be reaching that point that all sides like that do, 5-10 years after promotion. They impress at first, progress well and flirt with a European campaign. Then that becomes the norm for the fanbase, so they expect that regularly. They fall short, and the fans turn on the team, causing a death spiral to begin.

That could easily be me describing what happened to Stoke or Swansea etc.

It’s happened to every single team who has been in the league longer than that period outside of the sky six…except one, which is us.

Even Newcastle Villa Forest Leeds West Ham Fulham City Southampton all pulled down by the tractor beam eventually

It’s more likely Brentford Bournemouth Brighton go down in the next few seasons than it is they push on and qualify for the champions league.

Got to wonder what Brightons expectations are really. Has all the head patting from the media gone to their heads?

And Spurs will be fine in the end, but a couple of bad results there and that fanbase will hit defcon 5.
Defcon 5 is the lowest level. Spurs fans are probably already there. Defcon 1 is the highest.

Are spurs still a member of SKYs big 6. It won’t happen but it would be hilarious to see them go down. I think West ham going is big too because they are an established premier league team. I can’t remember when they last came up got to be like 15 years ago. I know wolves have established themselves but I can remember them coming up same with forest and obviously Leeds.
