Relegation Thread 25-26

Thought Leeds were terrible today once Villa got it back to 1-1.

They've spent 100m + seemingly on big players who can't run and the ones that can like Dan James and Gonoto are very very random with their decision making by the box.

So think Farke will be sacked soon and likes of Brendan Rodgers will be in the mix as Leeds can't afford to just let months pass as they got relegated last time doing that.

No guarantee they get it right though as Leicester got in Van Nistelrooy this time last year.
Brendan Rodgers would relegate them

We’ve been battling relegation for 5 years, long before Moyes turned up. Personally I’m looking over our shoulder until I think our team is good enough to threaten the top half.

The summer window was a disaster and the recruitment team should be sacked.
Well Moyes approved all those signings so should be be sacked?

Could really do with a win on Monday just to feel better about the bottom end of the table. Forest and West Ham will move away, as will Fulham. I still think it will be Wolves Leeds and Burnley but there’s really no need for Everton to get themselves even in the conversation this year.
Why do you put so much emphasis on 1 match when it's a 38 game season?

Momentum is key. I’d just rather we stayed well clear of it. We’re only 4 points off the bottom as it stands, we should have more than enough to stay out of it but we saw under Koeman and Silva what can happen even to teams with good players if momentum goes in the wrong direction. 4 points in the next two would be a good return.

I understand the momentum argument but I don't sense we're about to hit a big slump even if we lose tomorrow. I think we've got more than enough to be comfortably mid-table come seasons end and I'm hoping we can have an FA Cup run as I think otherwise the second half of the season will be rather uneventful

We were under prepared and I'd wager we'd beat them if we played them today instead

Thats not the first time recently Everton have started a season self-inflicted under prepared. Year before first two games was 7-0 aggregate loss. Season before it was 6-0 aggregate losses first three games.. Season before that i remember playing chelsea on the opening day and we never had a striker to start the season with. I think we had to chuck demarai gray up top.
Leeds we were playing a right footed midfielder at left back. On the opening day.
We do seem to be making a habit of being under prepared.
We could most certainly do without just chucking points away at the start of every season by being a bit more professional.

The fixtures up to 20th December look tricky. I just don’t want us to go into a spiral. I agree that we’ve got more than enough to be mid table but I’d rather just get something at Old Trafford rather than put pressure on us having to beat Newcastle at home.
