Relegation Thread 25-26

When you say 'the recruitment' I think Moyes will have a big say in who we bring in.

I don't think it's a democracy where everyone gets a vote.

You're right the strikers are a big problem, but Moyes had 5 months to work with Beto last season and decided (or 'the recruitment' did) we should bring in 'one for the future' who's still very raw.

I don't think he was a bystander in the summer recruitment and decisions about which positions we prioritised.

maybe mate but whatever we need one!

1 goal from the two centre forwards is a worry. Its a fine line when you look at the table. Isidor at sunderland has 4. But his goals have directly affected 7 points of sunderlands 17 this season.
That fine line of have a central striker just popping in more than 1 goal.

If we lose at Sunderland are we more or less doomed then? Imagine the s...storm on here afterwards by the usual suspects. The tension is becoming unbearable. Will Moyes go on Tuesday or will the chop come after the Fulham game?

Or we win against Sunderland and again against Fulham 🤷‍♂️
Cheer up mate.
Making predictions is futile really . . . but if you are going to do so you may as well predict positively. ;)

My sarcasm was lost on you. I was poking fun at those who constantly draw from their well of dire predictions of impending doom.
Think it's more based on the flawed idea that we'd just automatically carry last season end form into this season and would have a comfortably finish in the upper mid table positions. Ignoring that in the first few games we rode our luck in getting results and like all luck it has run out and is beginning to look very much like the season of the waiter.

We need the 3 points to just pull away from a deflating position with 10 games gone, especially when we have three very losable games on the horizon after Fulham.
All games are losable, all games are winnable. Who had us down to beat palace unbeaten in about 20 games after we couldn’t beat a rancid West Ham team?
Without a proper striker we’re the kind of team that will finish somewhere between 9th and 14th without threatening either end of the table, we’ll have some nice wins like Palace and Brighton and some crap results like West Ham and Leeds until we get a proper goalscorer.

It’s not just on a functioning striker, the structure and balance of the team is wrong.

It was always going to be a season of upheaval, moving stadium and the huge turnover in the playing staff, but it’s frustrating that we haven’t addressed some glaring issues with the squad (ahem…..right back), and the manager doesn’t seem to know how to use what he does have effectively.

It’s especially frustrating when I think the league is very poor, and it wouldn’t & shouldn’t take much to get up to positions 4-8 quite comfortably.
