We are in great form and we will stay up.... but only if they don't hit us with another 10 points deduction.

I’m not at last seasons level of worry yet. But we’re 5 from safety with a bad looking run of fixtures. We could be 3 or 4 wins from safety in Feb if we don’t spring a few surprises

But retaining the ball needs far more talented players than we have. It’s not just a decision “to retain the ball”- you have to be able to pass, shield, control and dribble too.

We’re better off without it

Just checked the fixtures and 5 of 7 of our last games of the season are:

Burnley H
Notts Forest H
Brentford H
Sheff Utd H
Luton A

The other 2 are Chelsea Away and Arsenal away.

I know our home form is dreadful but still you wouldn't want any other fixtures than that.

Btw i think we will be safe before then.

Better coaches than Dyche could get this lot (yes even this lot) to retain the ball a lot better than we do.

But regardless of that - this can be a fairly effective team under Dyche - but why did we wait for 20 mins v United before we played an aggressive, front foot high press? We bullied them and they were there for the taking but as usual, right from kick off we’d allowed them to settle and get in front.

Can't moan too much about the first half. Dyche had them set up well. We conceded a worldy and then dominated the rest of the half and should have scored a few. What can you do ?

Just thought we started on the back foot a little bit, and we do that too often at Goodison.
