Thing is... because of the points deduction we have to perform to levels/get points this club hasn't seen since Big Sam got us 8th with 49 points.

Then you've got Silva 54, Carlo 49, 59 all in had a transfer spend of near £300mill.

Dyche with the 3rd lowest net spend in the league has somehow got get European challenging football levels of points just to stay in the league

He's got one of the hardest jobs in top flight football IMO. So if we stay up...build a statue. If we go down...don't think anyone else could do better.

I agree.

Dyche has to stay whatever happens now.

I'd back him to build a 80 + point promotion winning season if the worst happens as he's shown for a couple of months he can get good form out of a bottom half team with hardly any good back up.

Plus he did what was required last season when only internal factors were in play e.g. Calvert Lewin constantly injured so having to alternate between Gray and Mauapy as main forward!

For anyone to want to sack him as he's the manager that took Everton down would be an incredibly short sighted decision, he'll still give it a good go in the run in anyway.

Big Sam to come in and save us.

Dyche with the 10th highest paid squad doesn't get a chance in the championship if we go down. On what earth would you want that dinosaur on big wages when you could have someone more talented with genuine ambition?

Build a statue Jesus. I’d rather be in the championship with a young manger trying to build something long term, with exciting young players and exciting attacking football. Than watching this fella screaming at his Keeper all game to boot long and happy to just survive playing his archaic brand of football.

This means absolutely nothing given the fact we've been mismanaged off the pitch and bought crap regardless of what they're being paid. Most of the high earners were bought in years ago anyway and have nothing to do with Dyche.

He's not perfect (far from it) but he has a track record of avoiding relegation and getting promoted. Given our circumstances he's not doing a bad job at the moment.

We'll be AFC Everton in the conference if we get relegated and go that way

Who are you talking about? Honest question as I think this excuse wears thin now.

Every club bar Luton and possibly Sheffield United have a number of highly paid wasters.

Who've we got in that camp? Dele Ali? Michael Keane is our back up centre back, Gomes is back playing. Not sure who else in numbers makes us weighed down compared to other clubs ?

A strange stick to try to beat him with. We should be in 12th and a large part of that squad are Dele and Gomes who may as well not be counted and most of the others are vastly overpaid.

If we somehow stay up this season, then next season looks incredibly difficult given the finances/possible pts deduction/teams coming up/out of contract players

Hopefully to counter that; our small team would have gelled together a little, with younger players like Branthwaite (if we keep him) having gained more experience. A bit of siege and “blues family” mentality will help and a couple more dead-wooders gone too. Often too many inclusions upsets the applecart. Basically we have no choice - do or die.

Certainly an optimistic outcome. Suspect even if we win every game for the rest of the season, JB will be gone. We already have 2 wide players that jumped ship after being relegated. They and others will do it again. We would have Virginia, Tarks, Coleman, and possibly out of loyalty Myko, plus free transfers and our pretty underwhelming academy lads. Grim. Really grim.
