Thank God there are three absolutely poo teams in the division this season. 40 points will probably do including if we get a juicy deduction.

It'll finish it in the eyes of intelligent, rational people (a minority, perhaps, but a relatively well-heeled one). When the likes of Martin Samuel is stating the obvious, the die is cast. The Bundesliga suffers from a "competitiveness" question at the very top (it is massively competitive from positions 2 to 36 across both divisions, with great upward mobility). The Premier League, by contrast, suffers from a "fairness" question: the idea that it is a closed shop that houses only state-sponsored sportswashers, United, Liverpool, Arsenal, and oligarch-powered Chelsea (now in terminal decline). The closed shop gets that little bit more closed by destroying one of the most old-monied and storied traditional clubs in the game - especially one with a reputation for deep integration in its local, working-class community (the only glorious legacy of the late Bill Kenwright).This.
6 clubs tried to take it up a bind alley and kill it but get no punishment. If we get the punishment they should have had it's a national disgrace.

I don't see us having points deducted - not because we didn't engage in funny business, but because our funny business is very small beer indeed compared to what's been going on at currently more fashionable clubs.
That seed has been well and truly sown.Thank God there are three absolutely poo teams in the division this season. 40 points will probably do including if we get a juicy deduction.
Nice sentiments. It'll finish it in the eyes of intelligent, rational people (a minority, perhaps, but a relatively well-heeled one). Not until it’s January and we’re double points clear of even being a question in the relegation race5 points above the bottom 3
3 points off top half
Close this embarrassment of a thread.
We are 5 points clear of the relegation zone already so the likelihood is we could withstand even 6 points deducted- we’d only need to be two points better than those three teams over 28 games when we’ve been 5 better after 10. The maths would still be in our favour. We can't bear a points deduction unless it was 3 points perhaps and if they decided on a deduction, it wouldn't be a token gesture. It would be a minimum of 6 points. We can't shoulder that at all.
Nor do I want a suspended points deduction though I'd take that now. It would just keep the guilt trip vendetta against the club going though.
A fine and a January transfer ban are manageable.
I did find that all his comments very strange, thought he was going on about we will relegated, then at the end said we wont get relegated but we will be in trouble, as teams know how we play etc. think we are ok this seasonrob i was crap earnshaw saying we’re in trouble he’s a utter b
Was going to say the same. I think we could handle 6 points, looking at the table now. Wishful thinking maybe, but as long as those below us keep getting schooled, we should be ok.We are 5 points clear of the relegation zone already so the likelihood is we could withstand even 6 points deducted- we’d only need to be two points better than those three teams over 28 games when we’ve been 5 better after 10. 12 points would be very very tough but that would be an unbelievably extreme punishment.
Was such a dopey argument. Everyone knows how everyone plays. We could have sent Moyes a dossier of exactly our shape and gameplan and it would have made no difference. They offered nothing. Our players are FINALLY all playing at least decently (some very very well) all at the same time. And when a striker creates his own half chance and then takes it, you get points.I did find that all his comments very strange, thought he was going on about we will relegated, then at the end said we wont get relegated but we will be in trouble, as teams know how we play etc. think we are ok this season
