We escaped from this position last season so it’s not as desperate as this yet but we’re going to need a great January where we get at least a striker and a creative player in or I can’t see things improving much with the squad we have unless Calvert Lewin can stay fit.
We had Richarlison mate, who single handily ran himself into the ground and kept us up.

Can I see Dwight McNeil doing that, with his 7 goals in 150 games? No

The only thing keeping Lampard in a job were the fans. His little dig at them will do him no favours whatsoever. If the players - and the manager - can't cope with fan expectation, maybe they shouldn't be at the club.
Agreed - the dig was unnecessary and if he gets the club and fans he should know better tbh. Maybe if they hadn’t served up 80+ minutes of godawful footy then the crowd would not be frustrated and be urging the team to try and win the must-win game?

He surely should apply some context to the result/performance also. Holding on at 1-1 at home against one of the top sides - no problem and completely understandable and forgiven by the fans - labouring, showing little effort and doing nothing against a very ordinary, bottom of the league wolves side - you and the players are getting pelters frank, be ready to accept and understand that.

It's as if he thinks the standards of the board are the same as the standards of the fans.

The board don't care where we finish once the heat is kept off them. The fans wish for something more and demand something more. They have actually demanded less of Frank than previous managers for a number of reasons. And he throws it back in their faces. It tells me he is out of his depth and has far lower standards than the fans. If they are not turning the place into Smurfland, they're a burden to him.

Franks way too close to kenwright, constantly blowing smoke up his arse, “there’s no bigger Bluenose” and he’s constantly talking us down now - which he wasn’t when he took over. The “relegation battle, it is what it is” etc is up there with Billy Liars “we’ve had good times” bs and everything that Everton shouldn’t be.

Relegation will become a self fulfilling prophecy the way he’s talking.

Maybe Frank spent the 6 weeks listening to Bill annd his excuses instead of working with the players?

The very fact he thought it "unhelpful" that the crowd felt we should be pushing for a late winner against the mighty Wolverhampton Wanderers at home tells you he sees us as a small club. That did for a previous manager...

It seems like the club are relying on the supporters, once again, to save our status. I honestly think the understood "agreement" about that last year was "fine we'll save you but you assholes better not be doing this again" yet here we are.
Anyone lighting blue flares in 2023 is part of the problem.

TBF, I dont think that was the mood in that ground.

There was no rational thought, there was a frenzy to get the ball forward and get all 3 points in the dying embers of that game.

We needed to get something there yesterday and that wasn't achieved. I think manager, players AND supporters need to understand that.

The frustration reached its apex in the final minutes, after the fans being served a crapshow for 80 plus minutes. I think it then dawned on the clueless players that they should be doing a bit more than peeing about across the back to win it, but there was no logical, tactical plan the entire match - the movement from the forward players was abysmal, hence the lumping it forward. Then defensively on the break, the players don’t do their jobs and let the wolves players run unchecked to set the goal up, as they had runners going unmarked and no tackle/foul going in - it’s criminal and amateur.

Then when we give the ball away, A player for most other sides would have clobbered several of the wolves players to get the boooking, stop their break and allow us to get us organised - Fernandinho did it for years, Rodri does it now, as does any half decent player. Happens at every level of the game ffs.

We didn’t put a proper tackle/foul in all match.
