Feels like every little mistake ends up punished against us. Johnsons second at Forest going bins, Felix last night off the post. Even pulisic whipped the offside one top corner.

Yeah I’ve long thought this. As soon as Iwobi gave the ball away in midfield you knew something bad was going to happen.

If we give teams even a half chance it normally ends up in our net. There’s very few games where I think ‘wow we got lucky there’. Meanwhile you see other teams give numerous one on ones away and survive all of them, have teams miss penalties against them, ridiculous open goal misses etc.

Frustrating though, you know?
Seeing just about everyone take their chances when they have 1 or 2 and then there's us, needing to create 5, so that we can score 1 lol
The lack of attacking threat is exactly why we’re in this battle , if we get out of it dyche has done a fantastic job with what’s available to him .

It’s one thing going into the season with an injured striker and hoping maupay can do it but repeating that in January after selling Gordon I’d close to criminal .

We’ll look very different offensively next season which can only be a good thing , I just hope it’s in the prem . It’s certainly looking more positive than it was

To be honest someone earlier in this thread said it - up until recently we created nothing and just used "give it to X and hope it works". We're currently actually looking a bit more dangerous and varied, moving the ball quicker and trying to always go forward towards a shot/cross. Doesn't always work but it's better than hoofball or constant pointless crossing.

I’d actually be excited to see what Dyche could do if we survive this season and give him a few weapons upfront next season.

There’s a solid base being built there and let’s be honest we conceded two goals at Chelsea from two mistakes. It doesn’t take much to cut out the mistakes and increase our potency at the other end. We absolutely muller Forest away if we had some better attackers for example.

The only team that has run through us is Arsenal. Every other game we could have turned them significantly in our favour if we had more of a potent threat upfront and took some chances, especially the Villa game. Even in the Arsenal game we had chances on the counter before the first goal, it’s a different game if one of those goes in.

I read someone posting we played better football under lampard but dyche gets results , I genuinely don’t know what that means . I can only assume they meant passing the ball and for the latter part of his reign in particular passing it aimlessly.

Yeah with Lampard we had build up but nothing to show for it (or nothing going forward, often - 0 shots on target was the norm sadly).

Now it's not as pretty on the eye (even though it doesn't lead to silly mistakes/goals lol ) but it gets results and we've had as many shots on goal in the last 3 games than with Lampard for his entire tenure probably, so I dunno, I prefer the Dyche way given the 2.

I mean I suspect it’s generational but im
Ok with this kind of footy , I quite like getting the ball forward quickly . I also think the comparisons with Sam are a little unfair as I think he’s trying a lot more than Sam’s two banks

Nah it's not, personal preference more like. I like it as well, it's just horrible when it doesn't work lol which is a certainty - it won't work in every game ever, that's why you need a plan B and all.

Directness and getting the ball forward is good when it's with purpose. That and quick touch football is great when it's in full flow - the "lb passes to cm who passes to lw who crosses to striker" route basically, no back passes lol

Perm any three from the bottom nine for the relegation spots, however, if I was pressed, I'd say that Southampton, Bournemouth and Forest are the most likely candidates.
Two of them looked dead weeks ago , they’ve got a few points but probably only achieved in making it 3/9 rather than 1/3 or whatever. The odd dropped point can be crucial which is why that equaliser feels massive .

I honestly have no clue who’s going but yours is very possible , forest look to be losing home games now and that’ll put them right in it whilst Palace need wins .

Maybe my preferences are old fashioned but I’ve found the period under Dyche more entertaining as well as more effective. Some people seem to prefer kicking it sideways to kicking it forwards.

Not forgetting that 50% of our games under Dyche have been against big 6 sides, 3 of which away. You’re not going to get much opportunity to play in those games and trying to do so can be suicidal. We’ve come away with a point per game from those 4 games, which is probably 4 more than we’d have gotten under Lampard.
