Possibly. I just tend to notice that we get done by VAR quite a bit. Even when we're not involved, apparently.

To be fair the decision that helped Newcastle beat Wolves helped us, and that was a shocker too. The system is just broken and feels like it's getting worse.

There is no doubt that VAR is now just a tool for the football authorities to control the narrative.

Given the money in the game, the incentive is definitely there for nefarious practice. I am not saying this is what is actively happening in every VAR booth - it isn't. But given the ludicrousness of VAR since its introduction, I have no doubt that FIFA, at the very least, see it as a tool for "drama" and "suspense".

I find that I can no longer spontaneously cheer a goal now as I fear it will be immediately subject to a VAR check and I will be subject to impotent fury and disappointment. A passion killer.
