Danjuma is comfortably better than him looking at their respective records so wouldn't worry too much about that.

Amazed Southampton haven't got in another CF given how mediocre their current options are. Orsic can score but he's more of a wide forward.

Danjuma and Jackson are very different players and at very different stages in their careers. Jackson is only 21 and is a big 6'2" centre forward who mostly plays in the middle up front but can play on either wing. Danjuma is a 5'10" who plays left wing predominantly and can play in the middle. I can't recall him ever playing on the right. Danjuma is a good player and will score some goals but he is more of a player to create the goals. Jackson is the typical big strong CF to cause problems in the box and be on the end of crosses. He is also very good with his feet for such a big guy. Ideally, a team would have both of them playing together, as Villareal had until Danjuma fell out with Setein. I am not sure what the fallout was but I assume Danjuma is a little frustrated with Chukwueze starting ahead of him. Seeing the way Nathan Jones plays football I think Jackson is the much better choice for a Saints team that will be lumping the ball into the box and looking for a big CF to win it in the air.

I think we will know our fate within about 5 matches.

We can write off the next 2 games in terms of having any hope (City away proved we may be capable of getting a draw in one, but very unlikely).

From the next 3 after the RS, we need 5-7 points with Leeds and Villa at Home, and Forest away. If we pick up less than 5 in them we will have too big a hill to climb. It's also important against Leeds and Forest we hurt them by winning or at least a draw in one of them. We cannot keep losing to these sides scrapping at the bottom - we have already given ourselves an extremely difficult task with losing the games we have recently rather than grinding out draws.

Newcastle were in a far worse position this time last season.

Every minute, hour, day of delay brings the club closer to relegation. Moshiri is out of control and needs to sell and be gone. The new owner can run the current board out the door then.

After 20 games last season Newcastle were in a far worse position than we are right now, so all is not lost.

Relegation simply cannot be allowed to happen. Our great club of Harvey, Kendall and Ball simply cannot be allowed to become just another lower league club like Sheffield Wednesday.

Frankly given our financial situation we would probably plummet down the divisions a la Portsmouth. And who knows what would happen to the stadium. I can’t bear to think of the RS taking it off us.

All we as fans can do is get behind our players as best as possible as we did towards the end of last season. Let’s not give the board or the media any ammunition to support their narrative that we’re violent thugs who pose a threat to all and sundry.

In the league arguably so, but they had a clear plan behind the scenes, where financially free to bring in players they not only needed but wanted, never had the fans outright rebeling agaisnt the board and even had a manager?
