Unless we spend heavily in January we will definitely need external factors to help us.
Leicester are average without Madison. Same with Palace and Zaha.

We probably have to be hoping Spurs or Chelsea come sniffing for them in January.

Same with Brentford. Have to be hoping there are some legs in this match fixing investigation. If it has legs he can expect a lengthy ban which makes Brentford bang average without him.

Yea it’s a sad admission I’m looking at external factors but that’s where this team has left me after the last 18 months.

What’s this?

We are so far behind some of the teams in this league. Once again it will only be teams being worse than us that will keep us up. I think we will ultimately stay up but it’s such a chore watching what we serve up.

The current bottom 5 are the worst 5 teams in the league. I think Wolves will get out of it now they have a decent manager. Hard to say yet. For me if we finish above Southampton then we stay up.

Southampton are poor but they're definitely better than Burnley and Watford were last year.

The problem we've got this time around is that the likes of Southampton will be capable of putting a run together and dragging themselves out of it.

Hasenhuttl sacked today surely. Frustrating watching Newcastle - they havent even spent Arab level money yet, just the sort of money we spent post Moshiri, only they spent it on solid, reliable players and a good coach.
Eddie Howe - a good coach with a track record. But plenty here turned their noses up at him. He's done a superb job there so far. It won't last forever - at some point they will want pots and CL success - but he has improved that side immeasurably in a short period of time without spending gigantic amounts of money.

Sickening isn't it. We've the only club in world football to spend half a billion on players and go dramatically backwards for it.

Bottom 4 now are the competition. I think Wolves will improve. You have to hope that the other 3 continue to fall off.
West Ham not in the conversation? Same GD, lost more games than us and only won one more than us. Or is it just Everton in a relegation battle

They have spent 200m in about 18 months like. But I agree he's doing a superb job.
