If, by some miracle, this happened I'd wonder what the common thread is as it wouldn't make a lot of sense...he has abilities you can't teach and, at that age, it's been most definitely noticed by all and sundry so I don't know what would separate us from the pack.

If we got the money and it won't harm our short term project, because every year we fail to catch up with the Sky 6, we fall further behind, I'm all for it. It's imho exactly the sort of signing we should be making. Make the footballing world sit up and take notice that there's a new kid on the block. And that hopefully also won't go unnoticed in the world of sponsorhip.

He was linked to Liverpool two years ago and last year, and to Milan, Dortmund, Bayern, Arsenal, Man United and Real Madrid this year. What surprised me was the estimated transfer fees ranged from €50m, through £60m to €90m. No idea what this means for how good he is.

I think the Richarlison situation myself, I think I remember reading he and Silva have a close relationship, may e he speaks highly of Silva in a Brasil.

It looks like he got his first taste of first team football the other night, coming on for the last 20 mins against Emelec in the Libertadores Cup. I watched his “ highlights” , nothing much really , a few flicks , a few touches but nothing yet to suggest wunderkid status. Would love it if we get him , but doubt if we’d pay £30 mill for a 17 year old as yet unproven player
