This entire thread makes no sense. How can you measure one player's impact based on <1/2 season (Bolasie) against a player who played for 5 seasons and scored 25 goals? Since the comparison has no balance, all we are left with is highly dubious opinions such as your quote above, rather than data, to arrive at some sort of consensus.

What did you expect folks to say when making this lopsided comparison? Maybe repost this again in about 5 years, assuming Bolasie is still playing for us at that time.

Based upon the entirety of their time at the club, which obviously isn't very long yet for Bolasie, Fellaini was clearly the more effective player, and by a huge distance, better value.
Hopefully Bolasie will improve with the team but spending most of the Stones money on a 27yo winger who'll have lost a lot of pace and be worth little in 2-3 seasons was reckless and not in the long term interests of the club.

I actually would like Fellaini back playing as a number 10 with Bolaise supplying the crosses in the short term.

Fellaini gave four good years out of five and was a great physical presence in both boxes, something that we have missed for years.

Bolaise it's too early to judge yet but he is the only creative player in the line up at the moment, consistency needs to be his number one attribute.

I don't get the hate for Bolasie. I'd imagine most people who love football played it at some point, which means you should see how good Bolasie is, and be in awe of him. But you didn't complain when we spent our whole transfer budget on Fellaini. And it was Moyes himself who bailed us out by giving us funds for Lukaku by actually signing Fellaini for Man Utd?!

Fellaini was great for us. Then he did well for United under LvG. Plus he is an auto first pick for Belgium.

Methinks someone just doesn't like Fellaini.

One of the first things Martinez did was sell Fellaini and we went onto having a fantastic season. This thread was to make people realise £20M odd on Bolasie is not that huge compared to the £15M Moyes invested in Fellaini (and himself had to bail us out of because nobody else would pay it) but I guess you all miss the point. Can't believe people are complaining about Bolasie, his football skills are evident every time he takes to the pitch. I thought Evertonias appreciated skill, work-rate, effort? Did Fellaini have any of that? no
