We need a centre back, centre mid and striker - Lescott (quality - and cheap), Schneiderlin (quality season, looks great) and Negredo (who else could we get who is better).

Selling Fellaini plus abit of the cash we get from the tv money should cover it all.

To be fair, it's better than the lineups posted by others with Stones at CB. He's a teenage RB ffs, clearly signed as a long-term replacement for Hibbert.

Assuming Felli departs, we NEED to sign a TALL midfielder (Fer?) because side by side Osman, Gibson, Hitz, Oviedo, Naismith and Pienaar look like Benetton's version of the Von Trapp family. They're all short.

Lescott is a no-brainer. We know he works well with Jags and we know Distin can't go on forever. Signing Lescott could actually prolong Distin's career by reducing the amount of games he has to play in a season. it would also mean Duffy would ALWAYS be playing alongside an experienced partner (if he ever got picked).

Pienaar is getting old very quick, and I would like to see Oviedo get more game time on the left of midfield.

Neville presumably is done, Osman and Hitz aren't far behind in terms of age: we need some younger blood in addition to Barkley. Honda and Liam Bridcutt are both coming to the end of their contracts.... Or maybe De Guzman at Swansea, although he's on loan from somewhere else so may not be available.

Don't see a striker coming in. We mostly play one up front so if we were to bring in a Michu or a Benteke (both of whom will be HOT property this summer, thereby ruling us out) we would be selling Jela or Anichebe.... no-one's gonna offer us acceptable money for either of them, so we have to improve the service to them by upgrading the midfield.

i think you are correct

but i think we have more chance of getting negredo because benteke is already prem proven so clubs will want him more than negredo, also i can't see us compete with others in terms of wages.

Not a problem with Benteke coming here, the problem is the other clubs being more appealing.

I'd still prefer Antoine Griezman to Negredo. Younger and probably cheaper in terms of fee and wages. I also think he'll end up being a great player.
