7/10. To go into the season without a recognised senior striker to fill the huge void left by Rom is terrible but I believe/hope that Keane, Pickford, Gylfi, Sandro, Rooney and Vlasic are all good signings. My expectations have been lowered as a result but I'm just hoping that we can pull something out of the bag in one of the cup competitions this season.

If we can play like we did in the first half against city, we'll be fine till January.
And if we play like we did against Chelsea we'll be firmly in the bottom half. We've got 2 league goals in 3 games and both are from Rooney who you expect will tire at some point too. Badly needed a striker. Hope DCL can add some goals to his improving game.

Has to be a six. We did some excellent work, particularly Keane and Pickford who could each start for a decade and are already class. Gylfi, Klaassen and Rooney are solid. Sandro could be very shrewd and Vlasic and Onyekuru are reasonable shots for the future.

That said....Niasse is still here and won't play while collecting a wage. Barkley is still here and won't play while collecting a wage. Both of those are detrimental.

More importantly for over a month our manager has been consistently requesting a left sided defender and a striker. He got neither. That is just poor. Both should never have been left for deadline day - period.

Even had we only managed one I would be more generous because our early work was very, very good. Getting neither done speaks of either naiveté, carelessness or stupidity. Mostly it reeks of not learning certain lessons last year (with all of the same decision makers).

So as supporters we are rightly disappointed tonight.

Come tomorrow though it is time to shift focus to what really matters, the action on the pitch. Time to support the lads we have in, today's debacle is not their fault (excepting perhaps Ross). I am excited to watch them play, and win, for our club.

COYB!!!

I am glad I had a full day away from here due to work.

I dunno what grade to give it really. Seems the boss made it clear we were after a left sided defender and a striker.

We did some ace business in total. Gylfi is probably the most excited I've been about a new signing in a very long time, so I feel conflicted.

Like we've signed some excellent players this window. Pretty excited about all of them. But...we failed on a Giroud/Dzeko level striker which is disappointing.

I still gave it a 7. Gylfi is the tits. Pickford and Keane too.

Started strong but it looks more apparent that we were just spending the Lukaku money early......
GOOD : Pickford / Keane
The other signings ( Rooney / Klassen / Martina / Sandro / Siggy ) all decent and filled with potential

BAD : Absolutely criminal to not replace Lukaku. We knew in Feb he wasn't signing on..... Bona fide target man should have been a top priority early in window. Very thin in the back..... LB cover ? CB partner for Keane ?

Unresolved / lack of moves for : Barkley / Mirralas/ Robles / Niasse / McCarthy ?

BOTTOM LINE....we are probably a little stronger / deeper in key areas....but the lack of goalscoring / Europa distraction / the strengthening of other clubs / etc..... think it will be a stretch to retain 7th

That I rate it a 7, and it's by far the best window in recent memory says something. Just needed those two more (essential) players for a 9.

So much was done well, given our difficult situation. Not good enough to attract CL level players, and with our two best talents wanting away. We bought well early, and just stumbled at the end.

As long as we keep improving the next two windows, I can see us progressing and challenging the top teams more and more.

7/10, but in the end still disappointing (as far as today is concerned)

Let's revisit in January and see how we feel, plus let's see how all of the young lads progress
This is exactly how I feel. We got some good players in, lost Rom for ok (by today's standards) money. If we'd got a striker in other than Sandro then maybe higher.

We shouldn't be in for players for key positions at the end of the window unless it's an opportunistic punt if someone becomes available.

We got a lot of players in. This is the new regime's team now. Let's hope that they have got it right.

Spent the lukaku money then looked unprepared and totally amateurish yesterday. Embarrassing we couldn't get a striker lined up knowing for likely 3 months ago lukaku was gone. We are an aging baines injury from being completely screwed in the back.

I guess we have another year of Everton refusing to play football against top 6 clubs

Ross the Rat ruined it for me. From 9 to 7.

I do t want to see him in royal blue never again.

Ship Ross and Oumar to nearest night club and let them booze up and work their wonders.

positive transfer window. Lot's of u-23 players, the economy is booming, an almost new first team, something to build on.
No haphazard buys in the 11 hour.

7/10

Mine is 6.

Will be +1 for each if we get in a top quality striker or center-back.

Another +1 if we were about to sell 2/3 from the deadwoods Barkley, Lennon, McCarthy, Robles, Niasse, Garbutt etc.

Horrendous transfer deadline day.

...7 out of 10 but it's all down to how the acquisitions translate to performances on the pitch. Excellent but incomplete business. I suppose it's hard to fully change a squad in one window.

I think it's reasonable to assume that we had reached the bottom of our spend envelope and the purchase of a striker was dependent on Barkley leaving.

Goalkeeper, Defence and Midfield, all instantly improved on last year. Went backwards with our striking options but time will tell if Ramirez can provide some extra goals.

Too much deadweight left at the club though, Barkley, Niasse, Robles, even arguably Lennon and McCarthy.
