Its ok, Jim White's gone till January, he can't hurt you now x

A solid 7. Fantastic business in Pickford and Keane, Rooney solid signing might not be at his peak but brings a real leadership for the young players. Jury still out on Klassen/Sandro but they are new to the league and has good reputation. Sigurdsson is obviously an improvement.

Negatives, obviously losing Rom and his goals. At the time felt it was a great deal but judging by the silly fees going around later perhaps not. Another negative was s failure go get a striker in but I was never confident we would get anyone near Roms level.

The Ross thing is all rather strange too, can't see how he plays for us again without signing a new contract.

Anyways we can get on with it.

I felt much worse in 2004 when Marcus Bent replaced Rooney, that season turned out ok.

Though you could argue that the players we signed before it went totally mad would have cost much more had it been known we would get £120m or more for Lukaku. Swings and roundabouts, think we did some fantastic business early in the window before the prices went daft.

6 for me.

Failed to sign a backup for Baines which seemed to be identified at the beginning of the summer when Arsenal stole Kolasinac from us. Of course, the elephant in the room is the lack of a replacement for Lukaku. Lost one of the best in the league and failed to adequately replaced him. Had we taken care of these two things, it could have been a 9 or 10.
Thought of this today, why is it we identify players for positions then do NOTHING when we don't get them? Witsel/Mata/Sissoko last season, Giroud/Kolasinac/(probably another player Im forgetting). We never seem to have a Plan B with this lot..

I CANNOT rate it better than a 5, because we lost our best player and didn't replace him with a new "best player".

We've made a significant improvement in goal (although I rate Robles as a good #2, nuts that we've kept Steks), and we've made significant improvement at centre back. Rooney/Sigurdsson/Klaassen are very alike players and we've kept Barkley so it will allow us to be stronger in all competitions.

But we don't have a striker. Sandro is unproven and DCL has a lot of work to do. Right now it is a sub-5. If DCL becomes Harry Kane and Sandro starts banging them in, then we may be able to look back at this window and say that a sub-5 rating is low. But right now it is a disaster.

The most disappointing thing is losing Rom so early, rather than playing it on our terms. We targeted Sigurdsson rather than a striker. That was poor, and Koeman is to blame for that.

Big, big holes in our team. One or two injuries away from serious problems.

one or two injuries away? we've already got about 8 injured! no transfer business would be able to cope with a whole team injured. Jesus christ, talk about an over-reaction. big big holes? seriously? wow.

Started fast, signed players pretty quick considering this is Everton, then started to go back to the old Everton of taking an age to complete/agree fee and Didnt end up with the forward we wanted and really needed,as i dont class that 19 year as a forward, more attacking mid,i will say 6/7,as i was pretty happy with keane/pickford/sig/ signings, knew Rooney was comming for ages, others need time,as they all do,

It wasn't a bad transfer window. We've consolidated our place as the 7th best team in the league. Be interesting to see what happens with Arsenal but I still think it's likely they'll finish above us given the fact they've retained Sanchez.

The bottom line for me is that if you want to mix it at the top you need top players. We haven't got them yet and that's the next step. Unfortunately, that requires a ridiculous amount of money.

6/10

We're stronger at the back, in midfield and we've got a fantastic signing in Pickford. Weaker up top and on the wings (unless Koeman forgives Mirallas and Bolasie returns as the same player he was before his injury). Excited for the new kid from Split, but he's still young. Hopefully he's better than Lookman.

If DCL/Sandro/Niasse are unable to score, then i think we will look back at this window as a failure as it will mean we will be struggling in the bottom half of the table.

If Dcl and Sandro don't start scoring goals, we will soon see Niasse back. At the moment i think he is actually a better finisher than both of them..i hope that changes.
