Ok, lets have it right.

Did we lose our last game? if yes, window = 0.
Did we draw our last game? if yes, depending on in game decisions either window = 5 or = 6.
Did we win our last game? if yes, window = 10.

Welcome to the up and down nature of the support. It'd probably be best if Everton just won every game for the rest of time and took the suffering out of the equation.
Exactly this.

Terry Curran played on the wing in the semi final v Southampton got mixed up doh .... so it was Terry Curran who made a young Trevor Stephen fight for his place in the team when he first joined ...

Ah that makes sense mate. Yeah Curran played that semi final and Steven did as well.

You had my brain fried there Joey with Peter Beagrie and me thinking "did we have him on loan" 😆 👍

It was Alan Irvine's bad injury in 1984 after the milk cup final but before the fa cup semi final that saw Tricky Trev come to the fore. Terry Curran was an excellent old school proper winger, whereas Steven was a modern day master with great balance, touch, guile, tancity, finishing and cleverness that was only matched by Kevin Sheedy on the other flank.

Where do Sheedy and Steven rank in terms of wingers? Based just on goal scoring they look absolutely elite and are above all of their contemporaries apart from Barnes. But I know Steven's work rate was also incredible and Sheedy obviously had an absolute wand of a left foot.

Above Mbeumo and Saka in today's game
more like a Robben and Pires from a little further back but no Jairzinho or Mathews.

As part of a well balanced midfield with Reid and Bracewell their ability to tuck in on the back post and finish lethally was second to none.

An Intelligence in their manner of play easily outshone those blessed with just raw blistering pace.

Putting the thread back on topic, I'm sticking with my 5/10 for the summer window, showing improvement but still
more needed to get close to competing
for silverware.

its funny both were excellent for us but didn't have pace, sheedy especially

For me it's still an 8. We didnt have infinite funds so it was always going to be about choices.

With KDH and Alcaraz and possibly Rohl we added quite some quality for a fair price. More than a fair price even.

Grealish is a no brainer. The guy is quality and looks like he's made for our club.

The striker position was always going to be the most difficult one since established/proven strikers cost a fortune in todays game and are generally pick up by clubs that can offer Europe. Its a shame Chelsea decided they need 2647382 mkre players om their roster and robbed us of our first choice. I dont mind us taking a gamble pn a semi-proven La Liga youngster. The verdict is out. Lets see what happens.

Dibling is also a bit of a gamble but I think he will be class. And he has time considering we have Ndiaye and Grealish around. A shame we're out of the league cup.

Anzu came for 10 mil. That money doenst get you a quality starting premier league player. I would rather we spend 10 mil on a prospect like Anzu then throw 15 mil away on someone like Maupay. We have been down that road and it didnt work.

Going for youngsters is a hit and miss but s rhe right way to go forward. We all knew this wasnt a one-year makeover. We bought some experience and took a couple of gambles on youngsters. The rest is for next summer.
