I'll kick it off by giving him an 8.5... he was by far the best loan signing out of any team this year and was a game changer in all but three games (IMO). Although one player isn't entirely responsible for a team's performance, he added a spark that was desperately needed on a team with no confidence.

He fits in flawless with our style... not signing him up for next season would be foolish.

Adapted brilliantly staring with that Arsenal game away. Injected the long awaited pace since AJ left. Never moaned about playing on the wings, hard working team player with great ability technically.

Missed a sitter and then made up for it last week witha well placed shot, made an assist to the future star, rodzilla.

I look forward to seeing him again. (y)

Thanks Sir Landon Donovan! (y)

Not going to rate him because, as a Yank, I am partial. I will only say that Jan1, I was a bit nervous, and wondered if he could fit in given such a short loan. I did not expect him to start since he was a bit rusty having not played for a while. Happy.

The pluses with Landon:

1. What you get is a team player, and a loyal one. (Everton traits).

2. I think that if he comes back, and I believe that he will, he is a player who is consistant with corners. I think that, that was the one aspect of his game that was under utilized during his stay with Everton.

3. I think that, given more time in the EPL, and with Everton, that he could really develop into a great wing for the club. It takes a while to settle in with a club, especially the EPL, and the fact that he managed it so quickly, says that there may be better days ahead for him, if he returns. I also see him fitting into, any role that Moyes has him play, starting, off the bench, what ever! in LA terms. (But, I do think that he has the talent to fight for a starting 11). As I said before, He is a team player.

4. Heart. I had a truely crappy, heinous, frustrating feed today. I had no clue that he, (was he really subbed in as a lone forward)? That was what I read on bigsoccer. Not really his niche. Feed kept breaking up, so I thought he was playing on the left, I had no clue....But the one play that did not dissolve, was when he had the ball stripped, around mid, and came he right back and got it. It was the last I saw of Donovan in an Everton jersey, (crappy feed), but, one that will stay, above others, in my lingering memory of him at Everton. His Heart, (he got the ball back), that, and the great fans and how they supported him, and their team. I think that this is the one attribute that Landon has that connects him to the Everton fans. Heart.

I will continue to follow Everton. You are class club and I love the hometown atmosphere. It is accepting, fun and has really been an eye opener for me. I did not think that I could fall for a team so far away. This is not my last post on this forum, and I hope that it is also not the last I see of Donovan in Blue, plus I look good in blue.

8 - He was fantastic and really gave us something different. He had a few games were he was in and out but he can be very proud of how he performed. His work-ethic, commitment, skill and desire was a pleasure to watch and i'm sure he will be in a blue shirt again beyond this season.

Well in Lanny lad, and good luck against the melts in the world cup

he was forced to play as a lone striker after anichebe, who started on the wing but is a striker, got injured. Landon had replaced Yak and switched with anichebe who went up top. We had no strikers on the bench so gosling came on and Landon moved up front

I think Landon has broken a few barriers in terms of how we play and how we may play in the future none so moare as in Moyes mind. He has proven that natural width and pace coupled with good techniuqe isnt such a bad thing on the wing - not everything has to go central.

For the task he was set an overall 9 for me - i would like to see him back for something reasonable, as there is a bit more in his locker i think and he will grow as a player with us - still wouldnt be my first choice for a wide position though! But a sense of realism is needed, hes 28 a very good player hitting his peak a player with natural pace that will slowely decline in the coming years - anything over six million for me would be a bit of a premium and paying for the name and rep rather then the player.
