As @larbert toffee said, he was a decent player, but absolutely nowhere near that price tag at the time. To be fair, Kelty Hearts were one of the first, if not the first team to leave Junior football in an attempt to eventually make it to the Senior game, doing well in their league apparently.
He came to the PL and he was one paced and completely out of his depth. Painful to watch.

Strange season for them: doing very well in the EL but faling off the pace in the SPL. That's wholly down to Gerrard wanting to use the Euro games to boost his profile. I've been saying for a while that Rangers are being mugged by him. He couldn't care less if Rangers finished mid-table but got to the round of 16/32 in the EL. He'd get an offer of a club in a struggling PL team down here from a chairman who'd see the marketing possibilities of Gerrard as well as maybe getting a coach that isn't completely terrible.
