RANGERS

They've dropped more points in the SPL than they did under the last two duffer managers at this stage. And that Celtic game was a 1-0 hiding. It realy could and should have been about 5-0, such was the absolute dominance.
You're right about the celtic game, i was there, but we played in russia with 9 men on the thurs, i'm not making excuses but it did contribute to the performance

But that's my point: Gerrard has placed all the eggs in the Euro-basket. He's about promoting Steven Gerrard, Rangers are just the vehicle. He probably knows that 2nd in the SPL will suffice with a gap to the winners of about 5-7 points. But he's not arsed about that. His emphasis is on the EL. That'll drain Rangers who really haven't got the depth of quality Celtic have.

Yes, going well in Europe is Slip.

Hope he gets his dream job across the park.
He was telling reporters after last night's game that if any of them gave his players less than 8/10 for that win against Rapid he'd go looking for them. He's a bit giddy atm. Hearts will burst his bubble on Sunday.

Isn't that because they are a pub team?

I haven't been following their league form fully but I know they lost narrowly to Celtic (although the score didn't reflect Celtic's dominance) and that is a lot better than the beatings they have been taking from them in recent times. Other than that and their loss at the weekend they have done reasonable seeing they like us have had a few red cards etc.

He is definitely getting more of a tune out of them than I expected.

Steven Naismith’s Hearts are top.

So yes, it’s a pub league.

I mean SPL is like so much worse than I remembered the few games I’ve caught this season. Celtic, supposedly the best, looked like a bunch of amateurs against Salzburg on Thursday.

...my son is close to somebody in the first team set up at Rangers (not SG) and has gone up for tomorrow’s game v Hearts. Be interesting what he thinks. Looking forward to doing the Old Firm game with him later in the season.

Celtic have lost Dembele, Roberts, and Armstrong, who were outstanding in Rodger's first season in charge, and Scott Sinclair is a shadow of the player he was that season. We've gone back dramatically since then, and resemble Ronny Delia's team.

It’s just a shocking standard. Watched that game on Thursday how does Mulumbu get a game in the EL ffs.

Sadly, Mulumbu was one of our better players on Thursday.

Sky, and the other TV companies, have warped football. Nowadays teams from The Championship can pay more in wages than Celtic, and Rangers. Until that changes, and I doubt it ever will, you'll have teams like Bournemouth being able to afford better players than Scottish clubs who have double their crowds.

Having says that, it's a tad brass necked, to say the least, to dismiss a league in another country as a pub league, because it features a player who played for your club for four years, and played over a hundred games.

If it's only a pub league, how come Burnley didn't totally destroy Aberdeen?

As for Thursday, do you think it would have been fair if someone had described the EPL as a pub league, after they watched the two Atalanta - Everton games?

Salzburg are a decent team. They may not be great, but they're decent enough. They reached the Europa League semi-final last season, losing in extra time to Marseille.

Don’t be so defensive my man.

Everyone knows it’s a pub league.
