I think he’s absolutely superb and I feel sorry for what he’s had to put up with , some of the media stuff has been absolutely awful and it’s hard not to see his point .

If he’s getting racist abuse yesterday it’s a sad reflection of where we are , bananas thrown and racist about in 2018 it’s terrifying.
Brexit has to some extent made it slightly more acceptable in some people’s eyes
Misguided and stupid as they are they believe Brexit has given them a right to behave in this manner

The Red-Shoite media have been behind and also in front of berating Sterling from the moment he decided he needed to move out the club......

Remember "This Is Liverpool"..... Tranny Rodgers berated that poor young lad left, right and centre, as he wasn't a manger confident enough to attack "Slippy G", so aim low and pick the easiest option you can, then utter bully the kid till his life falls apart.....

Sterling never had a chance in that environment, would love him to write an honest assessment of his time there. Think he may throw every piece of crap kopshoite mantra under the bus, after all they couldn't wait to do it to him.

Luck kid;)

I admire him a lot for his approach to this to be honest, it’s not a rant or a rave, but opinion and posting source allowing others to make up their minds.

I had a natural dislike for him playing for Mordor, but he showed remarkable intelligence binning them off for City.

The more you look into his background and the adversity he has had to overcome and the salient points he’s making here, in correlation to his own experiences yesterday, have to say I really admire him. He has the right if this.

Really brave what he is doing for the benefit of others.

It was very dignified, fair play to him.

What has been quite edifying is the amount people who adamantly refuse to acknowledge the presence of racism, even if its on a institutionalized level, unless someone actually verbally uses racist smears

It’s embedded in society at its most subtle level or even subconiously institutionally.

I’d like to believe the mail didn’t go out of its way to be intentionally prejudiced here, but there it is in its subtle institutional form.

I was watching the Sunday supplement today when this broke, it was very interesting they had just given a robust condemnation of the Chelsea fan at the game yesterday with Sterling in the first quarter of the programmer. When the mail stuff broke in the third quarter and they were asked for comment there was a more muted condemnation, they were obviously concerned that if papers were being called out, they may be implicated in this.

All of us in Weatern society clearly still have a long way to go.

Fair play to Sterling, this is something I never would have picked up or been self aware around, which just highlights the issue really.

Have to say I admire him for this.

Hes one of my fav players/personalites tbh

Seems level headed for everythink he has already achieved..

Dunno why he gets negative press, does well and sorts his family out not exactly bad is it

Talksport pandering to their media overlords as ever, the articles aren’t racist “because there were lots of stories about Rooney and Beckham”.

Also the touchline abuse was bad but Big Sam had worse against Newcastle. As well as getting a tabloid journalist to incite debate on this, why not also get a spokesman from Kick it Out?

One is saying F'ing Wan**r, one is saying F'ing 'unt, one looks like he's saying F'ing Joke, and there is a coloured lad stood right at the side of them and he doesn't bat an eyelid.

I'm sure Sterling has been racially abused during his career, but I'm not sure it happened at Chelsea, you can clearly see what a few say to him, mainly f'ing and jeffing.

Sterling is a very strong character. Good job really, considering the abuse he got after signing for the rs for £2 million, winning them a fair few games and then generating a £48 million profit for them! Somehow leaving a lower division club for them is ok, but leaving them to win trophies with the countries best team makes you greedy!
