Raheem Sterling

I think there will be debate , the one at the end seems to be the most In Trouble and it does appear to have a racial element but it’s whether that’s because you think it has. The other two I’ve no idea go be honest .
I'm confident the club will have already disclosed their names and addresses etc. to the Met, amongst others, so they'll be questioned sooner rather than later.

I wouldn't be surprised if one or more of them 'talks' about the main perpetrator in an effort to save their own status; same with the people around them.

If he or they have been racist, then rightfully they'll have the book thrown at them, which will at least be a life-time club ban, if not an actual prosecution.

My concern however is that so many people have already jumped on the 'racial' bandwagon with perhaps having the full (or any) evidence to prove so.

Without knowing what they actually said, I think you could go to many clubs in the league (including our own) and see such vitriol fans giving the opposition abuse.

If the other two are just excitable middle aged whoppers with a beer inside them it’s strange to think they’ll face a stadium ban and possibly arrest because of their mate , at first glance , being a racist . Because a lot of fans shout and get excited and push that line but because they’ve been caught up in the behaviour of the fella next to them ir might end differently.

Of course I’m only talking face value , they all might have said something racist or potentially not even the one it seems has .

He’s right some of his treatment and the failure to call it out by other media has been a disgrace . Some of the reporting has been disgraceful and it’s without repercussion, it doesn’t surprise me that it gets to a boiling point .

Also Leaving the RS to be successful meant he got slaughtered by their fans and supplicants then much of the media relished the opportunity to jump aboard that particular train and get themselves involved .

This seemed to all start when he left Liverpool funnily enough, getting booed by other clubs fans around the country, calling him greedy etc - unbelievable really. Dont understand the hatred towards him

Also we know most of the newspapers are racist so its good to see him directly naming one of the worst.

Rightfully or wrongly, it's guilty by association and social media/the media as the video shows three fans giving abuse, and there's now talk of racist overtones.

Imagine what their employers will be thinking? How will it be viewed by their families and friends? It may only have been one, but will it'll be perceived that way?

I'm not saying it's right, but they're in the mire right now so that's why I think they'll be under pressure to throw him (mate, associate, whatever) under the bus.

With regards to the ban and prosecution, the latter will obviously be if an offence can be proven; however, the club have much more liberty with regards to a ban.

If there's even an inclination that the other two may have been involved, then potentially the club will wield the axe to save face and show they take it seriously.

The other 2 were just on the video as they are next to the racist. Nobody is having a go at them, its just the guy on the far right.

Also, looking at the video, there is no way they heard what he said as they were too busy screaming their own abuse.

Liverpool football club have a lot to answer for regarding sterling’s perceived persona.

They painted him in a horrific light during there protracted negotiations with city for his transfer. It was clear as daylight they had a figure at which point he could leave yet they leaked all sorts including claiming he skipped training. Rodgers admitted he had the clubs pernissiom in an interview, he told him not to come into training.

Good on him, the media is disgraceful towards Sterling and there is certainly hugely racist overtones whenever he is reported on by the media.

Also imagine being so thick that you shout racist abuse at a player whilst he’s taking a corner and you’re in the front row. There’s only about 20 cameras dotted about the ground.

I think he’s absolutely superb and I feel sorry for what he’s had to put up with , some of the media stuff has been absolutely awful and it’s hard not to see his point .

If he’s getting racist abuse yesterday it’s a sad reflection of where we are , bananas thrown and racist about in 2018 it’s terrifying.

Got a lot worse since the Brexit madness gave these racists a sense of theur importance.

Racism underpinned the Brexit campaign and these neanderthals are merely answering the dog whistles blown by Johnson, Farage and their ilk.

...I saw a moment where he retrieved a ball from the touchline behind the goal and grown men were baying him. I always find it amazing that adults behave like that. I was in the stands at Chelsea some years ago, the bloke in front was with his young son and obviously picked up on my accent, he said: “I hope you get stabbed on your way out”.

And many people within the M25 think folk in the North are uncivilised.
Dont act like it dosent happen at goodison.

Can't work out the particulars of what they're screaming. No way to behave but the trial by Twitter as regards it definitely being racist abuse is a little worrying. That kind of leaning in and screaming at someone shouldn't be tolerated regardless - it's pathetic behaviour from a grown man.

‘Newspapers are helping to "fuel racism" by the ways in which they portray young black footballers, says Manchester City forward Raheem Sterling.’

To be fair, I agree with him. Gets tonnes of stick.

Also, this may be controversial, but Chelsea fans are the most disgusting in the premier league. Imagine maintaining support for that vile institution
He's right. Everything he does gets crapped on by the press. He can't win whatever he does, and there are white players who behave far, far worse.

The Chelsea supporters in my stepfamily are nice, but that club attract some vile people, as do West Ham. These are people who'd probably call James McClean a traitor for not wearing a poppy, yet do Nazi salutes and sing songs about Auschwitz at Spurs matches, even though the squad and Pochettino are goyim.

And a black guy scored their first goal too. Idiots.
