To be honest I think a number of Clubs will make a move for him in Jan. Hes a quality player and hes gonna be available for under £10m. I really hope we are at the top of that list.

It's the 10 million part that might be a sticking point.

It doesn't matter if he wants to come or not it because we do not have the money to sign him so it wil be a loan or nothing.

What's wrong with that? Sign him on loan with an option to buy. Just make sure he signs a permanent contract, before he fires us Dutch to World Cup glory in the SA 2010 final.

Do you honestly think he'll come?

If he's got his head screwed on, he'll see he's got a guranteed starting place here, for one of the better teams in one of the worlds top leagues.

Or he'll go to whoever will throw 100k a week at him.

I won't rule it out. Browsed a few Dutch football sites and he is declaring there are more teams than Ajax interested in his signature. One of them is Hamburg, so if he doesn't rule these two out, why shouldn't we stand a chance of pulling this one off?

One thing is 99% certain. He'll be leaving Madrid in January and I don't view VDV as one of the modern day mercenaries. Always had a lot of time for him, even at Ajax. And I do hate that club with a passion, believe me.
