….which was as ridiculous then as it is now. Teams winning their first game are on for 100%, but nobody in their right mind believes it will happen.

i don’t think he should be here, it’s much too early to judge him but I think he’s done fine.

The problem is, a few posters quickly elevated him to Messiah status. It set a tone on here whereby Benitez is judged on every game. A defeat at home to West Ham, the detractors bite back & the luvvies backtrack on expectation,

Benitez isn’t Everton. Benitez can be judged at the end of the season.
Did they, really though? Serious question.
I’ve always seen it more that people were prepared to give him a chance.

50 odd points and he's successful? ahahaahhahaha

Everton has sank so much, it's awful.
Since Moyes and Martinez’s first season we have been garbage.
Even the season Koeman got us to 7th and Europe was hit and miss.

Taking into account the current squad, anybody expecting more than mid table has unrealistic expectations.
Mid table is around 50 points.

Was having a quick glimpse of the West Ham/Spurs preview and WHU have Coufal injured whilst Spurs have Doherty / Sessengon (massive misses)

We have DCL, Doucoure, Mina, Gomes, Delph out and have only just gotten back Richarlison, Iwobi, Coleman & Gbamin

To say we get the same amount of injuries as our rivals for europe is incorrect and has been for a few years now.

At the top level small margins make massive differences and our medical department simply isn't upto scratch.

Bolasie running off knee ligament damage and Iwobi carrying on after pulling his hamstring spring to mind straight away, then Gbamin not been given surgery before then needing it etc.

The question would be what is Benitez doing to our squad in training that leaves them susceptible to so many injuries?

Benitez has acknowledged that he is not satisfied with the physio and medical staff. Says should be better for the money we pay out .
He's appointed a new guy in that department.

All teams get injuries, again we notice them more because this is our team, no team goes through a season without losing a key player for a chunk:

Four months... Ffs. You expect a manager to assess a medical staff, find suitable replacements, prepare u23s to fill in for injuries, manage a club, scout transfertargets, lead training, discussing tactics + win all the time... In four months??

The specific discussion was on injuries mate, which seem to be getting worse. And yes, I would tend to expect to see progress from people within 6 months. I'm not saying you fix everything, but something tangible in the right direction would be good.

The rest of it, he is obviously not going to get resolved in 4 months. He's made a good start in general.
