Quarter Finals

Argentina wont be troubled by a dull Dutch team.
Brazil will sweep aside a Croatian team that's rode its luck.
France will show they have a superior big game mentality to England - though on paper it looks too close to call.
Portugal will have too much attacking threat for a Moroccan team that cant do anything other than sit in their own half.
Plenty of dull teams win big matches.

Fact is, You're right to pick the teams you've named as favourites, but, after watching football for 45 years, I'd hardly be amazed if any of the other teams went through.

Surprised if Croatia or Morocco win however I feel Holland have played within themselves. Though the same could be said for England with Mr Cautious in charge. And I've always thought Deschamps is very similar in outlook to Southgate.

A lot depends on Mbappe. He's the real game changer. If he's on one, he's almost unplayable. Almost. The rest, pretty much well matched with England superior in midfield.

As said earlier: the English defence is ropey, and the French attack can get the job done in a number of ways.

That'll be the key to this game. That and mental strength, which is where the French have the edge again.

They were.
They weren’t, they reported he missed a day’s training, just like the French media may have noted that Declan Rice missed England’s session today

I didn’t see any crowing that it would be enough to miss the game and they’ve noted he was back training today

Nah, it’s only the English media that do it. Oh, what’s that? It’s almost like sports reporters report on sport

I wouldn't count on it. Kane will be gone, players get older or beaten down from near misses, younger players don't progress as much as hoped... I'm not saying England won't go deep in tournaments after this, I'm saying there's no certainty they will. Spain - after winning three in a row - have made a single semi-final in a decade. Germany haven't made so much as a quarter-final since 2016. Even the Italians, who somehow won the Euros, have found qualifying for the World Cup itself beyond them. And yet, with these three Euro megapowers in an obvious trough, England have not yet made hay.

It's only a matter of time before one or more - if not all three - of those nations come back strong. That's another obstacle that England will face.

So, while I agree that England have much to be proud of with their recent progression to the latter stages of major tournaments, a great football country like England needs to win one at some point before that window, as Sky like to tell us, slams shut.
Are you @davek ?

Of course you're correct.
As I am in saying, with a degree of confidence, that of the 64 clubs that start off in the 3rd round of the FA Cup, 63 won't win it. It's not hard making negative predictions and it's easy to state the bleeding obvious.

If you can guarantee me who will win the Cup this season and you will agree to pay me out based on your nap I would have a lot more respect for your post. BTW, as a poster I like you but I just get bored about these sort of posts.

Another prediction, I think in my life I will never, ever have relations with Bo Derek (sadly!). If you want to bet on this then the odds won't be particularly attractive.

A chance, yes.

The England defence is poor though. It's the weakest unit in either of these two teams and I expect it to tell.
Yes but you are, as we all know, either a cockwomble (it's probably not your fault if true) or a WUM which is actually a bit sad.

What you expect might not happen (although the odds are against it). If it does then chug yourself silly. If it doesn't happen then at least what you expect is that Spain will undoubtedly put England out. Good luck with that cockwomble.
